Please win this series Cards, then go on a major slump.

I'm rooting for STL to take 2 of 3, and for us to sweep the Reds. That way We take over 1st place, the cards stay well in our rearview mirror, AND they dont gain too much on the brewers, so there is still one team between us and the cards.

They scare me.

This would be the ideal scenario, yes.

I'm not afraid of the Cardinals in the least. Could they win the division? I guess...but it would be a double choke by both the Brewers and the Cubs of magnificent proportions.

Its not happening.

They're only 5.5 back, playing well, and the Brewers and Cubs have both been sucking lately...

Is it likely? No

Should we be worried? Not yet

Is it possible? Yes

I'm not worried about the Cardinals either. First off because of what you said. Second off, I cannot see too many scenarios where the Cardinals finish 1st and the Cubs finish 2nd. If the Cardinals finish 1st, the Cubs probably didn't end up passing Milwaukee anyway.

Magnificent proportions?

Uh, not really. it's 5.5 games. That's not hard to make up at all. A week and a half of good play while we/the brewers slump could turn things around REAL fast. Remember, there's still a month and a half left in this season. They just might be able to pull it off.

What's going on with the Cardinals and Brewers game, why hasn't it started yet?

I don't know, but the Cardinals are wearing the old-school blue uniforms.

Obviously it doesn't affect anything, but I'm rooting for the Cards to sweep. Worry about the team in front of you that you only play 3 times the rest of the year, not the team behind you that you get 7 games with.

agreed. i want to get into first as soon as possible. the sooner we put our fate into our own hands -- and our's alone -- the better.
