Fox is almost certainly being brought up to add a right-handed pinch hitting bat to the bench and a right fielder against left-handers (it will probably be Murton/Pie/Jones against right-handers and Murton/Jones/Fox against left-handers until Floyd gets back, and when Floyd gets back he'll probably push Pie out of the lineup).

So that means we'll almost certainly see Fox get his first career ML start tomorrow night.

Wazup.....I have heard rumors but can say nothing else......

What's the point in posting this? Seriously, why even bother if this is all you're going to say?

It's Gallagher's dad.

Still. What's the point?

Loosen up, after the initial Gallagher call up, there has been some good natured back and forth regarding early info.

Possible. Not sure it's almost certain, though; Lou hasn't been too eager to start these 25th man emergency callups.

Perhaps he's hinting that it won't be Gallagher won't be sent down.

Why are you telling me to loosen up? I just said there's no point, and there isn't.

There's no point to 99% of what's posted on the boards.

You could read between the lines and theorize that somebody with info believes Gallagher isn't going to be sent down to make room for Piggy, or that at least there is discussion about other possible moves than this most likely one.

Definitely think it's Fox for EPatt. Figured it'd be Piggy for Gallagher, but now I don't know...

Seems logical that Blanco to the 60-day DL for Piggy (if he isn't there already).

Ease up on Mr. Gallagher. Remember the papers when Sean was first called up? They referenced the "internet leak" when news broke of Sean's promotion before the Cubs announced it. I imagine a subtle message was sent to prevent future info from leaking out before the club officially releases info.

To me the only other logical moves would be a trade or (hopefully not) Wood back to the DL.

In the piece on chicagosports.com it mentions a reliever might be put on the DL.

I read that and the first thing that came to my cynical Cub mind was Woody...

maybe Dempster has come down with those mysterious "back spasms" that always hit our terrible relievers

It seemed like they have been dropping hints that something may be wrong for a few days now. His velocity was down a bit last time out and the length of time it was taking him to warm up has also been mentioned.

After Wood's last outing, I wouldn't be surprised if he's done. His velocity was way down and his control non-existient.

He's nowhere near the same as he once was. If he goes back on the DL, it will be the last time Wood will be a Cub. Thanks for the wonderful years Wood but it's time for the Cubs to move on.

So whose gettin sent down and whose coming up????????????

LHP Carmen Pignatiello and C/1B/OF Jake Fox appear to be on their way up. If we knew the corresponding roster move, you'd see it in the thread here.

What a sad way to end your career in Chicago huh? No matter how he got where he is right now it still sucks to see how fast and how far it all went down the tubes.
