HR leader at a lousy 18 goes on DL - CHECK

new HR leader at a lousy 16 goes on DL - pending

So is this Hendry's punishment for getting a pitching staff that wasn't aa susceptible to injuries as in the past 3 years?

Faling to make a counteroffer for a player that has 23 HR's - check.

We really only have ourselves to blame for this. We needed a bat before Soriano and Ramirez got hurt and we didn't add one.

People are posting on other boards that he has a 'significant hand/wrist injury' per WGN, could be done for the year. If this is true i am actually thinking about sacrificing the worlds content of goats.

If he is done, and if the Cubs fall short, this better not be used as a defense for Hendry in the offseason.

Isn't he seeing a specialist in Chicago today? Did the results already come back?

apparently WSCR (the score) reporting hendry is actively looking for a starting 3B

That was posted this morning...not here but on another forum. If that was true, I'm sure someone on this board would have picked up the story by now.

Losing your star LF and 3B -- who've been the two most productive players on the team all season -- isn't a defense? It's not a "Get Out of All Criticism Free" Card. But of course it's a defense.

I am crossing my fingers for it being false... whats the latest from cubs.com MB? They seem to get news quickly.

Guy on WGN radio just said, and I quote, "probable ligament tear in the wrist."

That is a quote from another forum and is obviously not reliable so take with a truckload of salt.

This team wasn't very good with them. And that star LF didn't even come close to living up to his first year's contract.

It's from Cubs.com. Not very reliable

Man, can't even begin to imagine the type of 3B Hendry might be looking at post deadline. Pedro Feliz?

For better or worse, Branyon just fell off the market (to the Phils).

Not that its in the same realm, but Graffanino is done for the season for the Brewers with a torn ACL.

Dave Roberts suffered some sort of leg injury today.

Travis Hafner left the indians game with a knee problem.

Meh. If Ramirez is done for the year, then call up Soto, Moore, Kroeger, and Rapada. Might as well go with the youth movement and see what we have for next year. It's not like we're going to be a very good team without Soriano and Ramirez. Also, I don't think we're going to be doing much this offseason with the sale of the club pending.

Moore 3b

I don't know why we need to do that now. See what the next 2-3 weeks bring first. If the Cubs fall out of the race, use the final month to do the youth movement. If the Cubs can hang in without both of them (which is possible the way the rest of the Central is going) they get Soriano back in early September and who knows what happens after that.

If this is true, or even if he misses a significant portion of time.

The best move would be Derosa as the everyday 3B, that's is best defensive position (at least judging from the way I see it, and I believe Len may have said that's what Mark thinks too).

2nd base can be any number of the 40 we have available.
