So basically this is what really is happening... he got a shot to numb the pain, but sometime next week he will do something terrible to it and be out until 2008?

Ron said he was told that they didn't find an injury in his wrist just "some fluid in there."

Ramirez update: Aramis Ramirez had an MRI and saw a hand specialist in Chicago on Thursday for his sore right wrist. The MRI revealed no break or structural damage.

Ramirez had fluid in his wrist, and he received an injection to flush it out. He was a late scratch from the lineup Wednesday and will rejoin the team Friday in Denver. Ramirez will return to the lineup either Sunday or Tuesday.

Is Lenny Harris still out there somewhere?

No, he's busy being the hitting coach for the nationals.

Seriously.

Dear lord, who thought of hiring him as a hitting coach?

dude's the all-time leader in pinch hits! All-time.

And why was he pinch hitting so often? Because he wasn't good enough to be a starter.

Those who can't do, teach. :D

Ram's due back Monday and that's great news. Hopefully he can rest his knee/wrist and start to rake again.

Monday'a actually an off-day. I've read that he may be back Sunday, or it may be Tuesday.

Oops...Very true.

I'd prefer Tuesday. Take no chances with a guy like Rammy.

Agreed. We can keep the boat a float until then. In this crap division it wouldn't be hard to.

That would be my preference too. As last night showed, Colorado is one place the Cubs can score alot even without Aram and Soriano.

Exactly! Let him rest his knee and wrist as long as possible... giving him the off day Sunday gives him 2 extra rehab days.

Anyone hearing anything yet?

Some guy on the cubs.com board is saying that Ramirez had a shot in the wrist, and should be avaliable on Monday.

He has 9000+ posts so I don't know if he's reliable or not.

I don't think it's all that reliable, but that is a lot more likely then suddenly having a tear without re-injuring it (aggravating it, sure. From all we've heard though, it just continued to get more sore with him playing, and there was no re-injury point). It will probably continue to be there the rest of the year, but I find it hard to believe that Ramirez will miss more than a week or two with it, and probably less than that.

Okay, man.

Figured I would throw it out there.

I just heard the same thing on ESPN 1000, ARam got a shot in the wrist and is out probaly until monday.

What kind of shot?

Hopefully some Roids. Maybe he can pass it around as well.

now would be a bad time to bump the thread where Tim talked about his concerns for Ramirez staying healthy throughout this current contract.

lol...i think i started a thread like that a little while ago and got bashed for it

good times

while it's good that it's nothing serious, this might really sap his much-needed power for the rest of this year.

As opposed to the homers galore that he was bashing out of the park over the last 5 weeks or so

anyone else getting really anxious and nervous for tomorrow's game?

i am going to be at work, but i am hoping upon all hope that i come home and find out that aramis played and that he was O.K.

if he doesn't look right...it could be the end...

however, if he is O.K., we may be able to hang on till soriano gets back...

i still have hope...but it is smaller now

i think it is certain that we need to sweep the brewers at the end of the month...

we MUST win the series...of course...but...i think a sweep would finally put the bamboozle on the central...

No, I'm not real nervous for tomorrow, at least not any more nervous than usual.

I think some things really need to change in this offense, not just ARam returning, but at least a couple other bats will need to really turn the heat up or it's over.

yep, if we don't make it, i wish we never even would have made it to first...even if it was just by percentage points...

way too much of a painful tease

oh well...nothing left to do but sit back and see what happens...

i am not overly optimistic though
