I'm very exicted about this.

Though I find myself wondering if he's worth picking up in my fantasy league if it means I have to drop Bill Hall. Upton probably wont be top-tier for a couple years, but I still can't resist the urge to go ahead and grab him.

I disagree. I wouldnt be shocked if he has a griffey/arod type year 20 season. He's going to be elite and he's going to be elite quickly.

OF- Quentin, Young, Upton

3B- Tracy, SS- Drew, 2B- Hudson, 1B- Jackson

C- Montero

That's how the D'Backs look to stack up next year. They also have Mark Reynolds and Alberto Callaspo able to play pretty much anywhere on the diamond. Not to mention another super prospect, Carlos Gonzalez on the horizon. Arizona has a lot of ways to go next year offensively.

Any chance they try the Jackson to LF experiment again or move Chad Tracy back out there? My guess is they'd like to trade either Jackson or Tracy for pitching, but can either get them much in return? Even if they do that, they will have the money (and likely the desire) to go out and sign a veteran bat to put up numbers a corner IF or OF should be putting up or perhaps re-sign Eric Byrnes, their best bat and a fan favorite. The best trading chip that could be potentially available is Carlos Quentin.

Would anyone trade a package including Sean Marshall for Carlos Quentin this offseason?

I am beginning to have doubts about Carlos Gonzalez. He struggled quite a bit this year.

Definitely has strikezone issues, but he's hitting for a decent average, on pace for 25 HRs and 40+ doubles. 21 yo all year in AA. Typical toolsy player's struggles at a high level.

Yeah, I agree to some extent. He has a load of potential, but he was definitely overhyped by Lancaster's launch pad and the hitter's paradise that is known as the Cal League.

Also I think Carlos Quentin is a bit overrated. He always played in hitter's environments in the minors, and was a HBP machine. I am not sure if getting hit is necessarily a sustainable skill in the majors. And I hope, I am wrong, I am the biggest Carlos Quentin fan in the world.

WTH has happened with SDrew? Just a learning year, or should the DBacks worry?

When I saw him play this year, he was phenomenal. The only player that I saw that appeared to have similar skills was Jay Bruce.

He's been fun to watch this year, and I knew he wouldn't be here for long.
