Awesome. This was a game we should have won.

BS You can't walk 11 guys and expect to win any game at any level.

Yep; it's probably the equivalent of giving up 3 or 4 turnovers in football...

Dreaded leadoff walk.

Stop walking people you stupid idiots.

Maybe you should watch the game and see that Demp struck him out.

Yes, let's blame the ump the whole game. After all, they're just out to get us.

Where in the hell should Ryan have put one on 2-2 to get the called strike 3 on David Wright?

I'm not saying that it wasn't a bad call, but come on. Blaming the ump for losing the game? Our pitchers walked 11 batters today. Last I checked, that's really bad.

He struck out the guy. You know how much difference a leadoff walk makes as opposed to one out with no one on. Plus he has called many pitches against us. Jones had a 3-0 pitch above his letters called a strike. He walks he also scores on Kendall's double

The Cubs pitchers didn't give up that many legitimate walks...that's the point.

Good luck scoring against Wagner.

Thats what Lou gets for not bringing in Wood.

I think the umpring has been poor as well, but the Cubs only took 1 walk with that zone... vs 11.
No way anyone who watched this game entirely would say the zone was the same. Zambrano clearly had a tighter zone, probably because Hernandez's break was fooling the ump.

The thing that upsets me about this zone is when Murton was batting in a big spot he got two called strikes on two curveballs that didn't look to or barely hit the black and then Dempster lays a fastball right downt he black for a ball.

Should the Cubs have walked 11 while walking once, No, but i'm still going to be upset about the inconsistencies.

Well, I was talking about the pitching matchup. But I will agree that we can't expect to win when walking 11.

Maybe a couple are on the ump. That still leaves 8 or 9 that are on Cubs pitching which is horrendous.

Exactly.

And that's all the insurance the Mets need. Dempster hasn't done anything since he's come off the DL.

Does this stat indicate that the Cubs can't beat .500 teams?

Cubs are 32-23 against teams below .500 and 25-28 against teams above .500 if we lose this game.

The Cubs are just flat out lucky that they are even in the game at that point for the call to even matter. When you only score 2 runs and walk 11 guys in a game, you should be blown out.
