i'm surprised murton didn't stop half way home and run to second or something.

this interview is tough to watch.

just gotta give it up to the lord cause the guys battled through it...you know, just giving 110%.

murton said "battled" 63 times.

the interviewer was like, "what were you thinking on the wild pitch?" nice question, cronkite.

Alright!

Maybe this is the Cubs year. They have probably one of the worst teams they've had since the 90s and they may just make the playoffs.

no way... '03 and '04 were better, but the '00, '02, '05 and '06 teams were complete trash ('06 probably was the worst) and the '01 team was sammy sosa and a bunch of other guys.

And the 2003 team was only better because of the pitching staff (the exploitation of which caused the 2004-2006 teams to be as bad as they were).

EDIT - '05 team was just mediocre, not complete trash.

This is the best team ever. Just keep believing!!!

Nice to see Wood running out on the field with the team :-)

How 'bout 1994 or 1997?

Lou sending a not so subtle message to Hill in his post-game press conference. Saying starters need to go deeper into games and not let things get them down on the mound, like errors and such.

Worried that the bullpen may start to get overworked.

He's been on Hill's ass (rightfully so) on that topic for the past month or so.

Seems like Hill gets flustered really easily out there.

I agree. I suggested that earlier in the game thread but it didn't go over too well.

I really don't think it's wise for Kerry to be running anywhere.

I kid. I kid.

I can't wait to see him trot out of the pen for the first time in the next couple days.

I believe this time it may have been the heat, he was pretty good through 4.

He's too talented to go only 5 innings every damn start.

He's been saying that all year long after a short outing.

Yes, IMO this team is ONE of the worst since the late 90s. ONE of not THE.

There have been 2 good teams since 2000: 03 and 04.

There has been 2 average team: 01 and 05.

There have been 3 terrible teams: 00, 02, 06.

This team ranks behind 03 and 04 but ahead of the others.

It's also great to know that I can go to bed knowing the Cubs are in first place.

Better than NyQuil. I also sleep a lot easier.

I'm late as well, and boy am I glad I don't have to make a game thread tomorrow. The Cubs are... in first place. Unbelievable.

if by eighth worst out of the past 10 seasons, I agree 100%.

perhaps a debate that deserves it's own thread.
