Can DirecTV get CSN+?

Yes it does it was like 668 or the channels right before MLB.(I'm In WC IND)

Are we going to call up an outfield bat for this series with both Floyd and DeRosa d2d or are we going to play with a short bench?

Ask and ye shall receive. Murton called up :)

So anyone got an idea for the lineup for tonight?

My guess is:

Soriano LF

Theriot SS

Lee 1B

Ramirez 3B

DeRosa 2B

Jones CF

Murton RF (Lou likes to throw them right in there plus Cliff has an offday I think)

K. Hill (maybe Kendall b/c he had 2 hits yesterday)

R. Hill

who is "tinkers"?

he'd be tinker but I add the "S" not knowing it was misspelled when I registered.I have tried to get a hold of a mod to get it changed but no luck.

My thoughts:

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Jones

Murton

Fontenot(I don't know if DeRo;s ready)

Hill,K

Hill,R

From what they were saying on the radio broadcast last night, DeRosa should be ready to go tonight. Lou kept him out as a precaution, but said he was doing fine on his hamstring and would likely be ready for the Cinci series.

woot, I get to watch the Reds broadcast of the game on Fox Sports Indiana at least.

Thank you so much! I didn't think of that at all, and now I get to watch the game!

I didn't know where to put this. Since it is game related anyone hear why Pat missed the game last night? and is he going to be back soon?

I'm going to have to listen to the game for a little while tonight allstar practice for my son.

TIA

He was just very under the weather. He showed up to the game last night looking very sick, and Ron and Corey had to argue with him to get him to just go home and rest. He suspects it could have been something he ate, and he is day to day, so a stint on the DL is not expected.

Man I know the Reds are in last place, but that doesn't mean we need to play a man short to compensate. I mean they did just take 3/4 from the Brewers!

Edit: Whoops, not only was I not the first person to make that joke, but the mistake was already corrected.

I am really surprised Floyd is starting - must be his #s against Arroyo...

and that is the best possible lineup with our current roster, IMO

Bruce, any word on whether Pat Hughes is back?

I don't understand the infatuation with Murton around here. (I hope I'm using that word correctly  ) I wasn't around here last year but I'm curious to know if you guys are just in love with the guy or you like seeing the occasional ground ball up the middle.

It's quite simple really. Last year in the second half Murton put up this line, .319/.390/.522, that is All Star level production and better than any Cubs OF in a very long time. He did similar things in the minors. He has patience at the plate and gets on base, unlike the Cubs in general. And he's very young, and very cheap, so he could fill a position with above average production at well below average cost, allowing them to spend big in other areas.

I really don't understand how hard it is to see why people like Murton.

Okay. I really don't remember the second half of last year so I didn't know Murton produced like that. But I do know this season, he was struggling with his patience at the plate and at one point he was pretty much an automatic out.
