I'm stuck with the Reds telecast on Extra Innings, and they're currently televising poker during the rain delay. They should know that the people tuned in at this time are baseball fans, so they should have baseball programming during rain delays. Oh well, I can watch the start of the Brewers-Cardinals game (which itself is delayed by rain, although only by about 5 minutes) instead.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Theriot, Fontenot, and Cedeno starting. It just isn't worth the risk of aggrevating injuries for one game. The regulars could always be used as pinch hitters in key situations.

I just remembered I'm not going to get to watch the game even though I have the Extra Innings package because, inexplicably, the freaking CINCINNATI Reds are my local team when I live halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga, TENNESSEE. :evil:

 

Oh, how I hate MLB, DirecTV and anybody else involved in these stupid local area listings.

 

I also have Directv and I also have been told that Cincinnati is my "local" team even though I live in North Carolina.

 

Atlanta is a lot closer to my locale than Cincinnati but I guess the powers that be don't want to blackout a team that has a superstation. I called Directv about this and they say blackout rules are determined by MLB.

The guy on the closed-circuit feed for WGN radio was saying it started raining on the grounds crew while they were trying to prep the field. No plans to change start time as of yet, but this one could be soggy throughout.
