Does this mean something went wrong with Hank White's comeback? It seems odd timing since there were thoughts that he'd start rehabbing in Peoria within a week.

It could mean they realized they were waiting for HENRY BLANCO to make it back to the team and help things.

This has to mean Hill is heading back down, right?

Hill is out of options. Assuming he's the one leaving to make room, he'll be going to a different organization.

Hill, Isturis, Eyre, Jones and Murton for Griffey? :D

I WISH....but i heard the report Levine is giving that if izturis is traded then Ronny will be recalled from Triple A

Is this the same Hendry that was there when Baker was there? I love what Lou and JH have been doing lately. Lou has really been a revelation. This appears to be the kind of team Lou was hoping he'd get when he went to Tampa. One with a good mix of veterans and rooks.

When Henry Blanco is the hitting savior for the catching situation, something needs to be done.

It would be nice to unload Jones and Izturis on some team that would value them based on reputation rather than current abilities, but unfortunately the Cubs can't trade them to themselves.

resigning Blanco was a terrible idea from the first place and now he might not even make it back to the majors with his injury.

Not to get away from the Soto lovefest, but who in the world could be interested in Izturis?

He's in the last year of his contract and I'm assuming the Cubs would pick some of the remaining money up, so he would be a fairly cheap "solution" to anyone desperately needing middle infield help.

That's desparation at its finest.

The Orioles are playing Brandon Fahey at SS, they are desperation defined.

Great news. It's about time. I'll be interested in seeing what other moves accompany this one. I'm hoping Soto gets the bulk of starts now. I don't want to see him be the backup to Bowen.

I would bet Soto becomes the starter now, Bowen is the backup and Hill is probably out. Can't wait to see what Geovany can do.

And, please, let Izturis be out of here soon.

i wish hendry was my jedi apprentice...his first task would be to acquire adam miller for izturis straight up

help me obi wan...you are my only hope!

Sadly--or maybe more accurate--amazingly, the Red Sox have Lugo there and we all know how bad he's been. Izzy would be a cheap help to them perhaps. Just spitballing here is all.

If Soto is what he's supposed to be (pretty good offense and good defense) Lou won't keep him on the bench for long, even if he starts as the backup.

This would be downright the best case scenario...Bring in HOF, LH hitting righfielder who is great defensively, continue to develop stud CF prospect, replace no hitting C and SS with young guys who have been hitting very well at the AAA level...seriously...is this the Cubs we're talking about?

Thank God we didn't sign Lugo.

To be honest, if Soto can hit above .220 with some power I don't see how he can't be considered a serious upgrade. An OPS around .700 would be thrilling.

Agreed. And we know Theo is a bit smarter (or at least has better philosophies) than most other GM's. However, many GMs are looking for cheap ML ready rentals for pushes towards playoffs. Worse comes to worst for them, they leave him off the playoff roster, call up Lowrie, and we're still paying a majority of salary. Or best case, Lugo starts hitting, Izzy becomes jack of all trades back up or they DFA him. It gets him off of our roster.

Oh, and I have Sox friends too, and that would be great to hear their reactions.

Oh no, I expect solid offense. I'm just saying that he'd have to screw up incredibly badly to not be an upgrade from our current production at catcher.

About a month and a half late, but I suppose late is better than September 1. He definitely has to be starting, there's no question about that. I'm just glad that the Koyie Hill experiment is over.

And three teams being interested in Izzy is awesome as well.
