Don't look now but this team has played well for about 2 weeks now  I'm switching over to the Brewers game and the other games thread...............what an exciting life I lead!

Two weeks? The Cubs are 22-11 since June 3; which is the best record in MLB since that date. :D

Mom is over here right now, and we were talking about all your worthless stats. She recommended that I point out that in games played during a lunar eclipse, the Red Sox are 1-0 in games that decide the winner of the World Series. Just in case you didn't know.

glad to see the cubs and brewers lost after gettin out of work....excellent

Cubs also picked up a game on Atl and Ariz, two of the three teams ahead of them in the WC race. If the Dodgers lose the Cubs are 3 GB.

I really don't understand the Cubs power outage. This is a team that should be hitting quite a few more home runs than they are.

Ramirez is slightly under what he should be. Soriano is still under what he should be. Lee is of course way under. Jones is way under. Floyd is under. Ward is under. Murton was under when he was here.

DeRosa is like the only person who is over what is expected, and he's only on pace for about the same number of home runs as last year.

The thing is-people like Lee, Ward, and Floyd have all hit the ball hard a good amount of the time, but all have had troubles with elevating the ball for home runs. Do you think there could be anything in the coaching that could be causing this? It's quite a mystery how so many decent to great power hitters can all have power problems in the same year, and yet many of them are hitting for average still, and sometimes career bests in average.

Lilly's 11th quality start. If Cubs hold on to win, they'll be 32-12 in games they get a quality start. Their starters have a 1.62 ERA in those games. They will have won their last seven games in which they've gotten a QS. Only once this year, has a Cubs pitcher done the minimum in a QS (6 innings, no more than 3 earned runs).

Also, 13 of 14 hits tonight were singles. Got to go to the postgame.

6 innings, more than 3 runs, and gotten a QS? I bet that's never happened

Nice bounceback win tonight....Now let's get Z to 11 wins and another series winner and momentum going into the break....GO CUBS!

Nice. Nothing better than coming home to see the Cubs won and that they gained a game in the standings.

Pretty damn impressive that the Cubs have gotten a QS in 44 of 86 games, more than half.

I'm dangerously optimistic. If we can get to the break 3.5 out, I'll go nuts.

That was a thoroughly satisfying game to be in attendance for. Lilly was ON, the team strung together hits.....shoot, even Jock got a double.
