Bonds just needs to get his 756 and go the hell away.

I'd rather he just leave the homerun record as is and just go the hell away now.

It we're talking about what we want, I'd like to see someone roll up Bonds' leg and explode his knee.

But on the realistic side, I just want him to go away ASAP.

I'm curious, it seems like every Bonds blast the Giants lose. can anyone provide me with the stats

With today's, the Giants are 8-7 when he homers. For a team that loses most of that time, that's pretty good.

There are tons of walk-off home runs. There were three just today.

There are very few that put you within five of the most important record in the game.

SC made the right call.

agreed

Aramis' homer got the Cubs back to .500. Not really newsworthy outside of the north side of the Chicago. Bonds' home run is newsworthy whether you love him or hate him. They made the right call. He'll get his 756, and then the highlights will slowly fade away until they just stop showing them all together.

Irrelevant to the discussion.

I went from watching the A-Ram walk-off on TV in the hotel room to the Ben Francisco walk-off live at the Jake. Good day

Is there any chance, barring injury, that Bonds doesn't break the record?

I don't think I want to know the answer.

Probably not.

yet, in another thread

he's 16 hits away. why to people keep saying 'if he makes it to 3000?'

What if he suffers a career ending injury? Until he gets there it will always be an if.

somehow, you treated the former as an 'if' but you don't seem to be treating the latter as an 'if.'

you said you don't needlessly argue minutiae with me, so there must be some explanation, right? sorry, trick question. you do in fact like to needlessly argue minutiae with me, and that is the explanation for your contradictory opinions on the two situations.

Oh my, you are one angry man.

Anyway, he said "probably" not. Probably still leaves room for an "if" (like a career ending injury.)

Jeez.

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

Let me just repost what killthegoat said.

Is there any chance, barring injury, that Bonds doesn't break the record?

Let me repost that with the important part bolded:

Is there any chance, barring injury, that Bonds doesn't break the record?

And, in case you can't read that because they type is too small, he said:

barring injury

In your original post, you did not say anything about an injury.

If Bonds does not get hurt, there is no chance he won't break Aaron's record. In other words, if Bonds does not get injured, he will break Aaron's record. That's the key. Obviously we don't know if he's going to get hurt or not. What I'm saying is that, IF HE DOES NOT GET HURT, he will break the record. You failed to say anything about an injury with regards to Biggio reaching 3000

Why must you be such an ass all the time? I was not needlessly arguing minutiae with you. You asked a question and I answered it. So my opinions on the two situations do not, in fact, contradict themselves. Get a life buddy.

Ever since your little blowup in the game thread a few days ago, I've made it even more of a point than normal to not get into an argument with you or even respond to your comments because you're so damn stubborn and you rarely listen to what other people have to say because you're so stuck in your views. And I think this response from you proves what I said in that same game thread: that you are trying to pick a fight with me rather than the other way around. After all, you're the one who blames me because you almost got banned a while ago. Like I said, get a life.

EDIT: And mods, I apologize if this was out of line in any way but I had to get it off my chest. This will be my one and only response to him in regards to this matter.

Back to Bonds...

I hate the guy as much as the next guy, but I still can not believe that he is picked out as if he is the only one who was using steroids. I was watching ESPN today and saw a preview for the day in the life of Shawn Marrion. Correct me if I am wrong, but he was found to be using steriods last year, but yet he is still celebrated. There is also a wide beliefe that at least 40 percent of the league at one point was using something illegal (including the pitchers).

What he has managed to do is very impressive no matter how he did it. There were a lot of other players out there using that did not break the record because they were not talented, which Bonds hate to say it was. I understand people not wanting him to break the recrod. Hell I would like him to fall 1 HR shy. However, I do not think you can say it does not matter because he was a cheater.

Are you referring to Shawn Merriman from the Chargers?
