Is there i can listen to the score over the internet? i went to their site but didn't really see any link. maybe there is one, but the site looks like a 10 year old built it for a school project and i can't find it.

I'd like Hendry to get a deal done already, but this isn't tragic.

It is when you consider that nobody else on the roster can play SS for more than an emergency fill-in role... which means it's going to be all Izturis all the time.

Izturis has been outplaying Theriot. As the starting SS, Theriot has been abysmal.

 

There's a negligible difference defensively, and Theriot is a better bet to produce offensively going forward, despite what he's done in an small sample at SS.

Izturis has had so many chances to drive in runs and only has 8 RBI! Theriot still has better numbers than Izturis. The decision to me at least is simple, get rid of thr overpriced bum Izturis.

as for the claims that DeRosa can't play short, his lifetimestats at short would place him in the middle pack in all catagories for ML shortstops this year. he got 4 starts at short in 2006 and 7 starts in 2005, and spent some additional time there each year, and did just fine.

I'm saying that sending down Theriot temporarily is certainly reasonable. The only reason not to would be if there was a self imposed deadline to make a Jones/Izituris deal today. There's no value in that.

Hendry is a moron..How hard is it to see a player blows and shouldnt be on the team..We all see it, every person that watches baseball knows it..Its like he dosent watch them or knows what the hell is going on.im sure 95 percent of people on here have more knowledge of the game and players more than he does.How hard is it to be " Ok wow this guy sucks, lets trade him or dump him" Goes for Jones,Izturis,Howry and,Eyre.Our GM is more worried about his ego than anything else..He just does not want to come out and say he made a mistake or it was a bad signing.We need a GM who is more aggressive and will call someone out when they suck and demote them or trade them.

There's nothing to support your claim. Theriot has been worse in June. Theriot has been worse for the past couple weeks. Theriot has been abysmal at SS, .186/.255/.209 over a not all that small sample of nearly 100 PA. SS is a really hard position to play, combine that with Theriot playing way too frequently and it's easy to see why his numbers have taken a hit from when he was provided a boost as a role player.

 

Theriot has sucked for a considerable amount of time. Freaking out because a player like that gets sent down is pretty absurd to me. Now, I'm not calling for Izturis playing SS everyday for the rest of the year, but there's no reason to think the team takes a hit with him playing there the next 10 days or so. He's a decent bet to at least flirt with getting on over 30% of the time. Can't say the same for Theriot, who has been abysmal for a very long time and is a good bet to just ground out to 2nd repeatedly.

I agree that Cedeno has earned his shot to try and be the Cubs starting SS. Hopefully, having some more experience w/Joshua has helped his hitting and will carry over defensively.
