I'm waiting for another one of those Score updates because I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not sure I heard it right.

 

Murphy is making it seem like the move hasn't been made. He's talking about who should be traded, released, or sent down to add the pitcher tonight, and he said Jones is the obvious answer. He seems kind of dumb though, so maybe he just wasnt' paying attention to Offman.

It's not like Score reports are usually crystal clear in meaning. I've heard them report transactions during an update, then not mention them again for 2 hours.

WHICH GUY WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE ON YOUR TEAM???? I'm not saying Theriot is a godsend or un-demotable, or anything of the like, but he has been struggling to hit lately and izturis is hitting well and THERIOT'S #'s are still better across the board. That's why people are up in arms, because he has the ability to snap out of a funk and be a reasonably priced contributor to this team, something that definately can not be said about IZcrappis.

One thing this year's Cubs team has done-it has kept all of us interested. From the surprise Dempster to the rotation/not to the rotation debacle to the surprise Gallagher callup to the Barrett trade and now this 2 day long Jones saga. I guess we just have to keep riding the roller coaster, because I don't see the craziness ending anytime soon (this one might end, but I'm sure it will be quickly replaced).

I'd like Hendry to get a deal done already, but this isn't tragic.

It is when you consider that nobody else on the roster can play SS for more than an emergency fill-in role... which means it's going to be all Izturis all the time.

Izturis has been outplaying Theriot. As the starting SS, Theriot has been abysmal.

 

There's a negligible difference defensively, and Theriot is a better bet to produce offensively going forward, despite what he's done in an small sample at SS.
