They bailed out Eyre. He can't just sit every game if he's on the roster.

 

no he cant but that doesn't mean he has to pitch 3 innings. Most good relievers can't even do that let alone Eyre trying to get lucky for 3 innings.

i mean just cuz he got close to that against the pirates earlier in the season doesnt mean he will again....

that is one of those games where the cubs still won, but learned a valuable lesson..DON'T USE EYRE FOR MORE THAN 1 HITTER

 

 

btw...i think jones knows the writing is on the wall..not too excited while everyone was running after soriano

Stop blaming Lou for the top of the 9th. He didn't want to pitch Marmol, Ohman, Howry for the 3rd or 4th straight day.

I don't mind spreading out the blame because all those guys listed there deserve some of it too but Lou also deserves a lot of it as well.

Yeah, it's just too much to put Eyre out there for 3 innings. 2 was pushing it. He wound up using Howry anyway -- and probably more than he would have if he would have used him from the beginning of the inning.

 

I mean, I think everyone understands what Lou was trying to do, but Eyre for 3 innings just won't work there's no way.
