OU will be good, but we have no QB. Thank god we have like 12 running backs.

The defense should be alright, but we really have to stop this whole thing where the defense sucks in the beginning of the year and takes four or five games to figure out what they're doing.

Probably 10ish wins and a top 15-20 finish.

Got OU beating Texas, or Texas beating OU?

I don't think we beat them unless one of our QB's plays mistake free.

Seeing as how we're going to have either a true frosh or a RS frosh behind center, I doubt that happens.

Of course, our O-Line should be really, really good, and we have a ton of talent at RB, so who knows. Maybe we can Nate Hybl them to death, in which case, the defense will have to shut them down.

I know for sure that OU will be steady and in the thick of the race for the conference title. They are certainly not unbeatable, but the one thing they rarely ever do is beat themselves. Usually they are prepared and well coached.

I think OU will squeak by Texas this year.

Right now I would go with Texas simply because I know they can score a whole lot this year. I would however give the defensive edge to OU, as Texas is getting a lot younger this year on defense.

If Jamaal Charles gets it going again I think Texas could run through the Big 12. They have a great recieving core as well.

Sure, I can accept that. Texas' season will hinge on McCoy's performance. While he was good last year, his injuries and at times, consistency was the key.

If McCoy can avoid the dreaded sophmore slump, and stay healthy, Texas got a good chance.

Also same can be applied to Texas defense, especially pass defense where they got shredded week by week last year.

I don't think consistancy was an issue until the shoulder injury. I don't know why they ran so many goal line sneaks with him last year like they did with Vince Young two years ago thus leading to his injury vs KSU. He added 15 lbs in the offseason so hopefully they will help him a lot.

His 68.2 completion % with 29 passing td's far surpassed any expectations. If anything people might call his season a soph slump simply because he doesn't match last years numbers. If they can regain their rushing ability I won't be suprised to see his numbers take a slight hit.

i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Penn State goes 10-2 and is in the running for a BCS game. Michigan on the road is gonna be a killer (just can't beat that team anywhere). Should sweep the OOC and have OSU at home

Does Penn St play Wisconsin? If so where? I like Penn St this year. I see the Big Ten coming down to Michigan, PSU and Wisconsin. I think Wisconsin will win in the end.

they play Wisconsin October 13th at home

I like Penn State a lot this year. I think they could be one of, if not the, big national sleeper.

They won't beat Notre Dame

In Happy Valley? I bet they do.

Yeah, second game of the year, with all the youth at key positions and in Happy Valley? I could easily see Notre Dame start the year 0-3 before the inevitable comeback against Michigan State.

I hold no grudge against the Irish, but I just think they have too much youth to win early in the year.

They won't start 0-3 (I think they'll beat Ga Tech in the opener at home), but 1-2 is not just possible but probable. I'll be extremely impressed with both Weis and Starting Quarterback A if they can pull off a win at State College or Ann Arbor.

I don't expect them to start 0-3, but I think it's very possible. Tech has a better QB than last year (Bennett's better than Ball) and the defense is always going to be very good. The biggest problem for Tech this year is they don't have a proven receiver. James Johnson is good, but he's got to prove he can be good without Calvin across from him.

Looking forward to the season. There are high expectations for the Badgers this season with, I believe 17 returning starters. Should come down to Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn St. I am disappointed that I am going to miss two of the biggest games of the year though. I am getting married 11/3 when the Badgers play at Ohio St. and then will be on my honeymoon when they host Michigan (I hope my brother appreciates the fact he will get 2 extra tix for that game)

Over the past 3 years, I've become involved in a keeper fantasy league and I love it - it's really exposed me to some conferences I don't pay as much attention to otherwise. Time to start preparing for that draft.

From the sounds of it you have season tickets. Why would you ever agree to get married and honeymoon on those dates. Shoot I skipped a cousin's wedding because it fell on the Iowa-ISU game.

Well, maybe it was either the college football games or the Cubs games that he has to choose. *shrug*

I'm really starting to get excited about college football. I think its like 57 days til Mizzou plays Illinois at the dome. Hopefully we start off on the right foot in that game and it leads to a big season. Ill be going to that, down to Ole Miss, and possibly Norman for the OU game.

Penn State won't match the other 2, methinks. I'm hoping for a solid, 10-win season this year.

You all know where I stand so Ill let a good friend of mine talk for me.

P.S.- The only "hole" for the badgers is their qb, and I think hawkeye fans can attest to this: there is no hole!!!!

I predict Auburn will still be solid, but they will probably go 8-3 or 9-2 in the regular season this year at best. They play the McFaddens, Florida Gators, LSU Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs on the road and will likely lose at least 2 of those 4.

Auburn will miss the following players that were seniors last season:

Kenny Irons RB

David Irons DB

Courtney Taylor WR

Karibi Dede LB

Will Herring OLB

Kevin Sears LB

Ben Grubbs OG

Joe Cope C

Tim Duckworth OG

John Vaugh K

Kody Bliss P

QB: Senior Brandon Cox returns, and those that followed college football threads last season know that I am not a fan of his. He played with an injury for much of last season and his was unable to throw the ball with great velocity for much of the year. The man cannot scramble. If the pocket crumbles, so will he. Auburn recruited Kodi Burns, a kid that was highly touted; he's very quick with a strong arm. He will likely struggle with his accuracy at least initially, but he could give the team a very differet look at QB in the near future. Auburn should get better play at QB this year compared to last season.

RB: One might think that Kenny Irons would be the hardest player to replace out of the bunch, but that's not the case. Auburn will not miss much at RB. Brad Lester is #1 on the depth chart presently, and he has been very good over the past two seasons, but I predict sophomore Ben Tate will be the starting RB by the end of the year. He is the strongest and most talented of the group. They have solid #3 and 4 backs as well if injury becomes a factor. Hopefully the O-line will do their part

WR: Auburn loses their best receiver, Courtney Taylor, but Rod Smith, P. Rodriguez, and Montez Billings are all a year older. I'm pretty sure Rod Smith is talented enough to be the goto guy this year; if he steps, up Auburn should be as good at WR as they were last year.

OL: Ben Grubbs will be hard to replace, but Auburn will still have a solid line anchored by 6-8, 321 pound King Dunlap. Auburn recruited several talented offensive linemen, but they likely won't contribute until next season. Auburn will suprise me if their OL is as good at run or pass blocking compared to last season.

DL: Quentin Groves DE will shine this season barring injury and should provide a formidable pass rush. He's a preseason candidate for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, and is on Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year watchlist. He needs only 3 more sacks to tie the school record for a career. NT Josh Thompson and DT Pat Sims return and are strong up the middle. Sen'Derrick Marks will move from DT to the other DE this season and was on many all freshmen team last season. Auburn's DL should be an improvement over last season's.

LB: If sophomore Tray Blackmon can harness his talent (suspended for much of last season), he could become Auburn's best LB. He is extremely explosive but raw. Along with Craig Stevens, Steve Gandy, and Merrill Johson, Blackmon will have much to prove early.

DB: Auburn loses David Irons. However, they return the remainder of the secondary, and they bring in a top h.s. safety from the recruiting class, Michael McNeil. Tuberville has been quoted stating that McNeil will contribute early.

K/P: Auburn loses both their starting kicker and punter, both were strengths for the Tigers last year. They burned two scholarships on the kicking department this past winter, but they will likely downgrade in this area at least initially.

For all of you who likes the preview magazines and such. Buy Phil Steele's preview magazine. It is by far the best sports magazine I have ever read. I bought it last year because it was so thick, and I read the entire thing, it is amazing, and he is surprising accurate. just to show you how much I like the magazine, he has the Badgers going 5th in the BIG TEN this year. I'd be shocked if Wisconsin finishes fifth. Behind who... Michigan, PSU, OSU and who, Iowa??? I really think Wisconsin finishes first or second, losing either of their road games at Happy Valley or Columbus, and then the Michigan game will be a great one.

I don't think consistancy was an issue until the shoulder injury. I don't know why they ran so many goal line sneaks with him last year like they did with Vince Young two years ago thus leading to his injury vs KSU. He added 15 lbs in the offseason so hopefully they will help him a lot.

I'm sooo glad that was the game I decided to go back and see last year. It was the best game I've seen in person in a LONG LONG time.

Oh Mizzou, don't forget about us. You've only beaten us once in the last, heck, maybe 12 tries (too lazy to go look), and you get to come to Manhattan. I think that'll be the game I decide to go back for this year, as it could be for the North title.

I do not doubt for an instance that Mizzou could lose in Manhattan, but for the North title?

Yeah, that's a brave assumption. Nebraska says hi.
