The idea is the Cubs getting back to respectability. What does it say about the Cubs if they are 5-6 games back and still under .500? It means they aren't very good.

I don't want Milwaukee to win all their games, but it isn't going to mean crap if the Cubs aren't winning.

Right now, I just care about the Cubs winning the division (or the WC). If it takes 90, fine. If it takes 85 or less, I'm plenty happy with that as well. How the Brewers do over the next month has a big impact on if the Cubs are in the race or out of the race at the deadline (of course, what the Cubs do has a bigger impact).

Is there even a chance at that?I havent seen the WC standings but Im guessing we are pretty far back

As of yesterday, we were closer to the WC (7.5 back) than we were to the division lead, I think.

7th place in the WC entering the day, 8 back. There's only 2 teams near the top though, everybody else is within 3 to 3 1/2 games of the Cubs, so it's doable if the Cubs take advantage of their soft schedule coming up.

BTW, if either San Diego or Arizona lose today, the Cubs will only be 7 back in the WC race after today.

Ah I see I just assumed we were back a bit and there were quite a few teams ahead of us

Alright, I just got back from the game a bit ago. I'm sure this has already been discussed in depth, but I really don't want to dig through. Was the right call definitively made?

I believe they did. There is a discussion going on here.

Yes.

Len & Bob spoke with the scoring booth in between innings, and it sounded like they were clear that the correct call was made, i.e. interference, dead ball, etc.

Man, this weekend was fun. Three solid to great pitching performances, some timely hitting, good defense....we're starting to look like a real baseball team!

Let's keep it going against the Rockies...

I just gotta say this....Soriano is a freaking bad ass gunning people out.

He's also a freaking bad ass launching 400-450 foot bombs.

I laughed when I saw him in the dugout after going yard today. Anyone else see this? He was hyper, walking up and down shaking his head ... I tried to read his lips, all I could get was "... try sneak that sheah past me ..."

only it wasnt 'sheah'
