Ugh - we haven't traded this bum yet?

Per the Score, he's likely to be traded before tonight's first pitch. \:D/

Didn't they say 50/50 yesterday? And that something would probably get done over the weekend? They're just slowly escalating the probabilities to drag this thing out.

They'd better trade Jacques soon, if they're going to.

Yeah, exactly. But still...SWEET GOD I HOPE SO.

I want nothing to do with jones.

He did score a fairly important run last night...I know...he did nothing to actually get on...but I do have to say he served a purpose last night.

No he didnt. He didnt do anything that Hill couldnt have done. Hill would have made it to third on the fumbled grounder by Matsui and He would have EASILY scored on soriano's base hit. A trained monkey could have done what jock did last night.

EDIT: Oh, and dont forget, he tried to get picked off third on that matsui error.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I think the hold up is because Hendry can't decide which veteran middle infielder he wants back in a trade for Jones. Rey Ordonez, Delino DeShields, Damian Jackson or Augie Ojeda.

Or Enrique Wilson.

I hear Jose Macias is interested in coming back to the Cubs. I think he deserves another shot.

As long as Hendry's in charge, he might get it.

Not to be picky, but Jones ran for Bowen not Hill. Hill actually got a great jump and scored the winning run.

Anyways, let's get this trade done already....it feels like the McGriff saga--but not nearly as cool :?

Errr, yah, that's right. Either way, Bowen would have made it too.

This was posted on the Daily Herald 9 hours ago (according to Google) but I haven't seen it posted yet:

Daily Herald[/url]"]If the Cubs don’t deal Jacque Jones, the impending cut could come from a crowded infield.

But rookie Mike Fontenot, who took grounders at shortstop Monday afternoon and had 5 hits in the game, isn’t going anywhere. Ryan Theriot likely is also safe despite his recent struggles at the plate.

Shortstop Cesar Izturis, who made his team-high seventh error Monday, could be a candidate for relocation.

He was supposed to be traded before first pitch last night too. I'll get excited when he's out the door.

Yeah, but it has to happen tonight. The bullpen is overtaxed and it's unreasonable to expect that Lilly will pitch a complete game. They need another pitcher.

Has the SCR mentioned who this ghost trading partner is?

I haven't seen anything in the Evansville Courier about the Otters or any other Frontier League team expecting to add lefty punch to their lineup and I don't know who else would want him so color me skeptical.

Certainly, but that doesn't mean that Jacque will be the one moved. I'm half expecting Pagan to get an (undeserved) demotion.

That'd be tough to do after his homer last night...

Who else would you send if neither Cesar or Jacque is movable? Theriot?

I don't think it'll come to that. I think Hendry will take less for one of those 2 to just get rid of them.

Agreed. Hendry on the radio stated he isn't sending Font and Theriot down. He and the staff are really high on both of them right now. Getting rid of Izturis and Jones makes too much sense, let's hope Hendry has finally realized this.

Both Izturis and Jones out by tonight? Too good to be possible.

latest Score update mentioned Jones probably on his way out to 1 of 3 teams and Cubs will likely pay for most of his salary.

Did it mention which team is most likely?

That's alot of salary to eat (assuming it includes '08 as well).
