sometimes I wish this organization would be totally cleaned out from top to bottom.

Why, so they can rebuild with all new crap?

History seems to indicate that anyone new, on any level, accomplishes little with and for this team.

The honeymoon is also starting to run out with the Eckstein clones; Theriot and Fontentot.

Who were the people who actually thought they were good in the first place?

I was fooled..I admit it.

Tsk. Tsk. Thou shalt not buy into NSBB hype.

Wait a minute, we're writing off Fontenot (or even Theriot, for that matter) after 41 career ML ABs, in which is OPS is over 1.000? I just want to be clear about this. B/c if Fontenot is disappointing some of you with his performance so far, you really should turn off the TV, shut down the computer, and walk away from baseball forever.

He's not going to OPS 1.000 for his career. He might end up being the worst player to ever play the game. But he's been fantastic in his very short ML career. To say "the honeymoon is over" b/c he's 0/2 today is the dumbest thing I've read in a while.

If you really think that based on a couple good weeks after his callup that he is an everday player, that is the dumbest thing I read in a while. He is a backup utlility player at best.

The honeymoon started with just a couple of games. I don't see why it can't end just as quickly.

If Hendry really gave a damn about winning and about this organization he would have resigned long time ago. The guy is terrible! No other organization would stand up for this futility from their GM.

For some the honeymoon began when they saw him producing very solid numbers in the minor leagues.

Semantics, but I wouldn't call that a honeymoon.

Padilla has 5 K's through four innings now. Padilla, he of the 6.5 ERA coming in.

This team effing sucks. Get rid of them all; I really don't care at this point if they keep anybody.

Haha...

Santo: "Oh God, this team is brutal!"

Sorry for all the updates, it's just funny. And I know you can all picture it in your head.

There are hundreds of guys who were "decent" in AAA who get called up and have a great couple of weeks.

There are probably only a handful of mediocre-to-decent AAA players who get called up to the majors and are suddenly good for the long haul.

Theriot and Fontenot= "okay" at the AAA level. Nothing to suggest they would be adequate major league everyday players in the majors.

And for the record, we're have 3 utility players in today's lineup (Fontenot and Theriot- utility IF and Pagan- utility OF), a backup catcher, a backup 1B, and an emergency rookie callup (Pie).

one of those is a DH and one is in for an injured player. What are Jim's excuses for the other 4?

It's hard to imagine, since I didn't have very high hopes to begin with, but this team could seriously underperform what I, the much hated pessimist, thought they were capable of doing on the downside.

If they lose today, they are on pace for a 73-89 season, and I don't see any white knights coming in to save them.

It will be below 6 after this game. He should take the Cubs out to dinner tonight

Keep em coming. I'm wonder when Ron will crack open the bottle of Scotch.

It's also pretty hilarious to hear them talk about the new Chinese players' names. Pat says them and Ron just cracks up.

Pat: Wei Wang....I hear he's way cool!

I'd say that was pretty optimistic.

Seriously, I thought they'd be a little better than last year, and I think so far my assessment is pretty close. They were/are put together wrong becuase of Hendry's fetishes.

I will say I've been happy with DeRosa though. I didn't predict that.
