this loss really sums up the 2007 season. stupid baserunning, stupid mistakes by hill, horrible defense, swinging at crap all throughout extra innings, the offense not executing when they had runners on base, piniella misusing ohman...so on and so on...

Good swing, Koyie, you idiot.

Thanks for the L Lou.

Man with the baseball acumen on this site, one would think the manager could be responsible for 40 losses a year on his own.

yeah, just what a team that can't execute EVER needs to be doing...trying to get a squeeze down. like that wouldn't turn into a complete disaster.

Michael Barrett woulda hit into a 2 out triple play there.

yeah, because he's been an offensive force this year. LOL, I'm not going to blame him for any more than what he has coming... I feared this game would come down to a botched play at catcher.

Come off it. Lou's an idiot for leaving Ohman out there. He can't get RH hitters out, and on top of that he's thrown more pitches the last couple days than the "overworked" Wuertz. He's completely responsible for that situation that ended up with us giving up the lead.

if it weren't for barrett's hit in the eighth, it wouldn't have come down to that.

He has to be gambling against the team. No one could be this stupid.

After all those pitches he threw on Sunday.

This season can really be summed up by the play that gave the Mariners the 4-3 lead. First off, Ohman should have been out of the game by then. Ohman had only pitched more than one inning twice this whole year. Then our .230 waste of a RF double clutches before throwing a three-hopper to the plate, which our blundering catcher can't seem to corral.

Of course, if they made the play, we might still be watching this sorry state of a baseball team perform.

Even after saying all of this, the game was lost in the 8th when we couldn't even score the game-winning run from third with no outs...brutal!

Why Loogys dont exist.

Sometimes they need to eat innings to help a bum-rushed pen. Obviously he cant do it, so we need to find someone that can.

neither did hill, hill, izturis, jones, murton, ohman, soriano, pie, theriot, derosa, pagan, fontenot, or anyone else on this pathetic team. you're acting like barrett is the difference between a 28-35 team and a 50-13 team.

Fontenot left 5 late in the game however, he was facing tough lefty relievers.

Unlike Barrett, none of those guys is hitting cleanup. Come on, Barrett was showing bunt in the early innings... He isn't coming through enough offensively and he's a defensive liability.

Why was Ohman needed to eat innings?? Gallagher and Wuertz coulda taken out 6 innings before Ohman was ever needed. Which would've taken us to the 18th inning, and I don't think we need to make bullpen management decisions based on who we'd be using in the 18th. For whatever reason managers seem intent to hold out their long reliever til they have no other arms left and I just don't get it. In the process they wind up stretching short relievers for longer than they're used to and wind up never even getting to the inning eater.
