Lou REALLY disappointed me in this.

 

There was nothing he could do but throw a fit, and that wasn't going to help anybody. It is already evident to everyone watching that the umps were grossly out of line, Piniella would have been tossed in no time.

Who cares if he was suspended again? He needed to show the ump up regardless.

if there's every a time for a manager to get tossed, its right there in those situations. you have to protect your players, and lilly was the victim of an absurd ruling, all the more reason to raise some hell. on top of it, your rookie middle infielder nearly gets his face broken on the next play and you do nothing.

 

he had no trouble getting tossed for arbitary reasons on pagan's moronic stealing of third base. at least show some of that anger when your team is getting screwed.
