Last news on him I've seen was he was getting ready to throw the ball around as of April 1st on rotoworld. Any updates on this dude? I'd love to see him make his way to the BP this season.

Last I heard was that his tendons were too used to not doing work, that when he actually did work, they got sore and he wasn't sure when he was going to be able to throw.
Translation: Don't expect him back anytime soon. :(

Yeah I'd be shocked if we saw him in 07.

So he's just sitting around not doing anything at this point? Awesome.

And his paycheck keeps rollin' in, too.

I definitely chose the wrong line of work.

yeah, he should be out personally apologizing to every cubs fan in america...and giving them each part of the money he stole from the cubs.

You know, when I found out that Wood had been re-signed to a new deal, my brain told me it was a good idea to sign him cheap with an incentive laden deal. However, my gut told me it was stupid and that the Cobs have already wasted enough money on him and that they should have cut their losses.

Then, he looked decent at times in spring training, and I thought it'd be a great story for him to be able to turn it around as a shutdown pitcher coming out of the bullpen, maybe even to challenge Demp for the closer spot.

However, just like clockwork, the beginning of the season rolled around and the shoulder pain returned. We made fun of Mike Hampton for his extremely large contract and low production, but I'd like to see the $/K, $/wins, etc. numbers on Wood from the previous years as well.

Its time to be done with him. He's made so much money off of doing absolutely nothing, he should be coming in to get his paycheck with a ski mask on.

I agree 100%. I remember when Hendry was all "I dont want to sign him" and Wood pulled out a gun and was all "you have to lol or ill kill you" and Hendry was all "oh man, here it goes" and then the studio audience laughed and the music started playing.

I can't get enough of them.

As it turns out, I'm far happier with Lilly and Marquis in the rotation than Wood/Prior this year

And if I told you would be saying that now back in March....

Yeah he has totally earned the paycheck the past two years. Far be it for us working stiffs to get a little angry to see this guys get paid money to hang out in chicago/arizona.
