Holy crap! He just got SMASHED in the head. His helmet popped right off his head. Man, I was convinced that the first time he got hit in the head hurt him emotionally and he started going downhill from there.

Ouch!!

It didn't look as bad as the first time it happened.

It would be pretty hard to top that.

That being said, getting hit in the head sucks. I got hit in the head when I played a few years ago from around a 70 mph fastball. I can only imagine at how it would feel getting hit in the head at 95 mph.

After seeing it again it was worse than I thought.

I don't think it was so bad. If you look at his legs when he stoops down there is no unsteadiness or weakness in the muscles. When a guy gets his bell rung hard all the major muscles in the body show at least momentary signs of faltering. I didn't see that here. I think Sammy's most likely physically okay, he just can't let this affect him psychologically, which is what is what happened last time. I'd maybe give him a day off then let him play.

I think you're right. It's the psychological effects that really got him last time and that is what fans will have to look out for this time.
