I like Beekman and Graham, wish CM hadn't jinxed us out of Doug Free though.

Don't know a thing about the UL-M defensive back.

From NFLDraftCountdown.com:

Strengths:

Has very good size and terrific bulk...Excellent natural athlete who is more quick than fast...Does a very nice job versus the run...Good hands and ball skills...Still improving and has a lot of upside...Top intangibles...Has special teams potential.

Weaknesses:

Still very raw...Needs to work on his technique and the fundamentals...Is not a great tackler...Does not have elite speed and plays slow because he isn't very instinctive...Does not recover well from mistakes...Really struggles in coverage.

Notes:

Played running back for the first half of his career and he only made the move to defense in 2005...More of an in-the-box type...Might only project to be a backup and special teamer at the next level...A project and long-term developmental guy.

Doesn't impress me at all.

Thanks, will read more about him but that isn't bad for end of the 4th round.

Not sure about the two LB's before we took Crosby, but I am VERY happy that we got Crosby in the 6th round.

Great pickup and he should be able to win the starting job over the erratic Dave Raynor.

Whom apparently only McCarthy didn't realize would suck.

I'll make a few calls in the morning to a GA I know at ULM and see what other information about him I can get.

Dallas gave up our 6th and our middle 7th to move up and take Deon Anderson...seems like we didn't even need to make the move though.

Maybe. Sometimes I wonder if teams don't deal picks this late just because they don't see the value of drafting anyone at all (i.e. some of the players that will be available as undrafted F.A. will probably be of similar calibre)

Okay, so that wasn't wrong? The Dolphins did just get a 300+ lb fullback? Wow.

And now they pick Drew Mormino, C, Central Michigan. This draft is bizarre. Why another C? I know he can play guard, but it's a little weird to pick two centers in one draft.

Anybody familiar with Jacob Ford, DE from Central Arkansas? I like it initially since he's and end and we have one quality end, but know nothing whatsoever about him.

I just looked up a little information-he's about 250, raw, and pretty much purely a situational pass rusher. He had 15 sacks combined the last 2 years.

Maybe he's a long snap specialist? I really don't know.

He reminds me alot of Travis LaBoy when he came out. One other thing to note about Ford is that he is extremely fast for a DE, he ran a 4.65 40.

Excellent. Just exactly what we need about four or five rounds too late. I also like the next pick (despite him being from Florida), Ryan Smith. Solid CB that played pretty well in his only year at Florida.

Why can't we make good picks like this in the early rounds?

At this point in the draft, nobody's drafting for need. If there's a guy you think has the ability to play in the NFL, you grab him.

Enough with those comparisons, TexasCub.

Not really the point.

Cowboys got Courtney Brown out of Cal Poly. I'm really happy with the pick, probably the best CB left.

He wasn't invited to the combine, but look at his pro-day results:

Campus: 4.32 in the 40-yard dash:shock: … 2.48 20-yard dash … 1.46 10-yard dash … Bench pressed 225 pounds 15 times … 4.07 20-yard shuttle … 7.1 three-cone drill … 41½-inch vertical jump:shock: … 10-foot-11 broad jump … 32½-inch arm length … 9½-inch hands … Right-handed … 25/39 Wonderlic score.
