When did Murton become the whipping boy on this board? He is slumping, just like a ton of other guys on the offense. Soriano, Jones, Izturis, Cedeno, and Barrett have been almost as bad if not worse. I have not been around much latley, but this seems like the last place that would turn on Murton after 30 or so at bats.

He's hardly the whipping boy. Actually, I always get the feeling of fighting the crowd when I advocate Floyd starting over him.

It seems like you have more than a few on your side, and maybe there is a reason you are fighting a crowd. People here are ripping his average. His average was .300 at the start of the game. If your average can drop 70 points in 1 day, you have not had enough at bats base any decisions on.

I miss the good old days when we could unite in our hatred of Macias, Neify, or BOOM BOOM Bynum.

I have never, ever been impressed with Murton, so I'll be honest. Maybe I'm biased. I just think when he came up, the cubs were so incredibly OBP deficient, the fans put all their hope in him. He came from a organization that values obp, hes always had a decent career obp, etc. With that said, I think he's a MLB 4th OF. I do not think he is a starter. His defense is as questionable as his offense, as well.

Demp still in.

Ohman blows this game.. I'm calling it.

don't start that nonsense

if the cubs lose, the offense blew the game. Seven innings without a hit? give me a break.

Kinda weird how the only people who are universally despised on this year's team are pitchers. I'm used to going nuts any time certain position players would start, but these days it's not quite as bad.

Actually, it seems like the trend on this board lately is that the whipping boy is whoever had the last bad AB. I know that oftentimes the posts are said in jest, but it does get a bit old.

Give it time. Our SS guys will make us turn on them.
