Only the Pirates could get 16 baserunners in a game and only score 2 runs.

I'm sure the Cubs could too

get 16 baserunners, or only score 2?

get 16 baserunners and only score 2 (or less)

not sure they could manage the former, but definitely the latter.

that would be like a .375 team OBP for the day.

The good news: The Cubs won't lose today.

The bad news: The Cubs just got swept at home by the Astros.

I really hope Lou either has ripped, or will ripped into his team today. This is absolutley no way you should be swept---even in a shorten series---in your first home series of the yr. I hope Lou has them ready to kick the reads butts on Friday.

Just from taking a quick look through last year, here is one game where the Cubs had 16 baserunners and only scored 1 run:

Hey, they were over .500 too. Baserunners and a winning record, that didn't happen very often.

Yup-the funny thing is that isn't the last time it even happened (the 16 baserunners and 2 or less runs).

Here's another one:

There was also one where the Cubs had 15 baserunners and only scored 1 run. They were actually quite good at this particular trick :D

The makeup date isn't official yet. It's pending MLB approval.

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the July 12 game is a value date.

If you lower the standard a little bit...... to 14 baserunners and 3 runs or less, you get..........

Gm# Date Opponent Score Starter
26 Wed 05/03 @ Arizona N 1- 5 Maddux
83 Tue 07/04 @ Houston 2- 7 Prior
107 Thu 08/03 Arizona N 2-10 Marmol
67 Sat 06/17 Detroit 3- 9 Marmol
40 Thu 05/18 Washington 3- 5 Wood

Baserunners in these games were 16, 14, 17, 16, 15

Value date? I doubt that because it would be an add-on to a prime series.

They've done it before. But regardless, it's rather odd that they've made an official announcement about a makeup time and date before removing that information and stating that the decision is still pending.
