Murton hits RHPs well but he is struggling a bit. Also, as much as we want to minimize these early series, they are important because they are against divisional foes. If Floyd can get a few hits tonight I'll be more than happy. Murton isn't going to be forgotten. I think some of the reaction to Murton being out of the lineup is related more to Dusty Baker than Lou Piniella. After all, Murton has started two of the first three games...

Don't worry about it being cold inside of Miller Park. You should be fine in a T-shirt and a sweatshirt. If you get cold easily, bring a light jacket. I was at the Dodger/Brewer game on Wednesday night and I had a sweatshirt on with a jersey over it and was perfectly comfortable and it was colder than it is going to be this weekend. The walk to and from the stadium on the other hand was cold so if you can't tough that out, bring a winter jacket, but you won't need it in the stadium.

Enjoy the games.

Thanks. I just like to peruse the forums of all teams just to make myself a more educated baseball fan and pitch in when I can add some clarity to a subject and going to 30+ games a year at Miller Park, I thought I could add something to the discussion on proper attire for cold weather games at the Keg.

Murton is 5 for 12 (.417) against Bush with a walk, with a double, 2 triples, a walk, and a K. I really dont understand why he isnt starting.

Just so you know, that game is 6pm CT / 7pm ET ... so it will be getting underway in half an hour or so.

He'll be pitching against the Brevard County Manatees -- the Brewers' FSL team.

Maybe Dusty didn't give Lou "the book"

It's probably because they just want another left handed bat in the lineup since we have so many righties.

I'm gonna have a tougher time deciding between the Don and Samardzija.

(Ignoring, as Laura pointed out, the time difference for the two games.)

I love how everyone has a heart attack when Murton is not in the lineup

No... im totally cool with them NOT playing one of the better hitters on the team.

He ought to get his fair share of playing time against both LHP and RHP, but he is only one of the better hitters on the team if we count the bench. A very optimistic projection for him this year makes him the 4th best hitter in the lineup behind Soriano, Lee, Ramirez. That assumes that he plays better than Barrett, Jones, and Floyd, at least one of whom, I'd bet, will outperform him. That would put him around the middle.
