For weekday home games in April and May, the Cubs are offering a 50% discount for bleacher tickets with a promo code that can be entered online:

Cubs.com[/url]"]Look in your college newspaper for the ad from the Cubs and then use the promo code to take advantage of this great offer.

There's probably just one code that isn't college-specific, but who knows. It's also quite possible that if they don't have to be picked up at will call, that anyone could use it.

By the way, it is valid for weekday night games, as well.

What about tickets already purchased?

Then you're SOL. That's like airline tickets. Once you buy, you've bought.

Aw crabnuggets.

May I also note that this is the demographic most likely to spend money on booze, and that I appreciate McDoughnut's new effort to reach out to us.

as an unemployment grad with my student id, this seems like an excellent way to spend my time

I'll check when I'm on campus, but it wasn't in today's paper.

By the way, tickets were released for the first homestand. Looks like there are still some singles left for opening day.

I called the Cubs and asked them what universities they're advertising in... (Because it's not in mine) The lady said she didnt know.

For anyone who lives in Illinois, please check.

Cubs ticketing now features a box to enter this mysterious poorly advertised college discount code for weekday home games.

Picked up the Daily Northwestern on my way out of the gym and they finally had it. It's a full page ad, too.

Anyways, the Northwestern promo code is "WILDCATS." They have "exclusive" dates for NU as 4/11, 4/13, 4/16, 4/17, 4/23, 4/24, 5/8, and 5/9. Originally I think they had all weekday home games in April and May, but now it looks like those are the only dates that work.

When you get through, there is the regular 8 bleacher ticket limit. The promo is only valid online, so you can't avoid the fees by buying them at the ballpark. Other than that, though, it should be easy to buy them. They don't require any proof that you're a student, so anyone can use it. It also doesn't matter which promo code you use, so "WILDCATS" will work for anyone.

Looks like it's the nickname for whatever schools are involved because "FLAMES" works also. I picked up 16$ bleacher seat for the 4/16 Padres night game.
