No more blue jerseys.........

Every softball team I've ever seen or played on wore T-shirts and not jerseys, so I'm not sure where the softball jersey joke became fashionable. Wherever it came from, it's getting as played out as the towel drill jokes.

 

You must be talking about girls softball where they use a 12 inch ball and mitts.

I blame the New York Mets for my disaffection with alternate jersey tops. WAY too many. Gimme the pinstripes at home and the gray "NEW YORK" tops a la Tom Seaver.

I liked the blue jerseys at first, but they got really tired. White jerseys have been the standard forever. Before the Cubs started using the blue jerseys, I never thought the pinstripes were worn out or boring. They're not gonna get old.

 

I think the blue jerseys would have been better used as a once every few weeks type thing. They just got over used.

Whether it is comon or not is not my point. It is basic, it is boring, and it has barely any of the cubs color (blue) noticable in it at all.

Hhhmmm well I post at this other forum (for sports logos) where people post concepts to all different sports teams, so I do quite a bit of concepts when I'm bored, so I'll whip up so possible uniform solutions in a bit.

I like your blue shirt better than the one the Cubs were using. Trim helps out alot, though I'm not a fan of the walking Cub logo.

Out of curiosity, can you see what the Blue would look like with red trim up the middle(where you have the white now), and what the White would look like without the pinstripes and the blue trim up the middle(and on the sleeves if possible)? I don't have enough expertise with image editing to handle it myself.

That's how nearly every team's standard home unis are. It's what home uniforms are supposed to be. Coming up with uniforms to be different leads to uniforms that look like they're out of the arena league. Baseball is an old game, and the uniforms should look classic, not post-modern.

All opinion, and up for debate. If that's the way it has to be then I would prefer the cubs road uni's to have a straight dark blue jersey. Instead of all ugly grey. I also would like to see the home blues atleast once a week.
