LaRussa overthinks a situation for the first time this season. It only took 2 1/3 innings.

This will not be the last time LaRussa manages the Cardinals out of a run this season.

 

I don't think that was managed incorrectly-that squeeze probably had a better chance of being executed successfully rather than the run scoring any other way with the hitters they had coming up-they just didn't execute it that particular time.
