What are some of your best calls in recent years? Mine...

2002:

-Maryland winning it all, and 3 final four teams (KU, Maryland, OU) right

-10 seed Kent St to the Elite 8 (probably my best pick ever)

-12 seed Mizzou to the Sweet 16 (eventually made the Elite 8)

-11 seed Southern Illinois to the Sweet 16

Needless to say, I won my pools that year.

2004:

-UConn winning it all

-8 seed Alabama beating 1 seed Stanford

-7 seed Xavier to the sweet 16

-10 seed Nevada to the sweet 16

Think I did pretty bad the last two years... I tend to run either very hot or very cold.

I've never really been that great at predicting upsets, but I did pick Maryland, Syracuse, and UConn in consecutive years for the title. Started to go astray the past two years. Doesn't bode well for my pick of Georgetown this year...

I suck at pools. The closest I ever got to winning was the year UNC beat Illinois, because I was in a pool with about 20 Illinois fans and just me, and they all picked Illinois to win while I picked UNC. I didn't win that pool though, I got like third.

I picked Butler to make the Sweet 16 in 2003, easily my favorite pick ever.

That same year I picked somewhat lightly regarded Syracuse to make it to the title game - they ended up winning it all. (I then destroyed that magic by picking them again two years ago and they went down in the 1st round to Vermont.)

I usually don't go very out on a limb in my upset picks, and rarely pick more than one double digit seed to win multiple games, so I don't have many great calls.

Hopefully you got the NC right again. :)

Cuse winning it all a few years ago (as what a 6?). Took a lot of crap from people in that pool for that pick. Won that pool.

Also picked UNC to win it 2 years ago. Took less crap - finished 2nd or 3rd that year.

Cuse was a 3 that year.

As for best picks, LSU beating Duke in the Sweet 16 and going to the Final 4 last year is my favorite in recent memory. Almost everybody had Duke going to the Final Four.

Others from last year:

-A&M over Syracuse in the first round

-Wisconsin-Milwaukee over Oklahoma in the first round

-#7 seeds Georgetown and Wichita State over #2 seeds OSU and Tennessee respectively to go to the Sweet 16

On the other hand, I did have Kansas going to the Final Four last year. #-o

I had West Virginia out of that year and am convinced it would've happened had Texas not buzzer-beaten them.

2 years ago I was, at one point in the second round, in the top 300 out of the 1.5 million or so entries with espn.

1992-#6 seed: Fab Five Final Four

1993-#3 seed: Fab Five Finals. Picking them to beat #1 UK was awesome.

2000-MSU champs. Wisconsin #8 vs #1 Arizona. Their style of play was so ripe to f up the Cats. I had them going to the Elite 8, they went 1 further and went to the Final Four. Seton Hall as a #10 seed going to Sweet 16. Lamar Odem. Won the bracket.

2003-MSU as 7 seed going to the Elite 8

2004-UConn to win. Won the bracket. You look back now and go..so UConn as a 2 seed, big whoop. In a pool of 25 guys i was the only guy that had them winning, it was very strange to see that. Alot of people were scared of Okafur's back problems going into the tourney.

1990+All the first round Indiana upsets.

Ive never had all 4 Final Fours. Ive had 3 but never 4, never less than 1.

I too picked the Kent St. to the elite 8. I still tell people about that, and they still don't care. I was on Butler both times they had their upsets, UWM to the sweet 16 and Bucknell beating Kansas.
