so, Raisin, break down the matchups for me. I haven't seen UCLA play enough to know them real well.

 

I figure we've got an advantage down low, and you've got a slight advantage in guard play.

 

Key Matchups:

 

Afflalo vs. Rush

 

Collison vs. Robinson

 

KU's frontcourt vs. UCLA's

 

This will probably get lost amidst the talk of tonight's games, but here goes anyways:

 

Of the three key matchups you listed, I think we only have the advantage with Darren Collison. Afflalo will struggle with Rush's length (just like he did with Corey Brewer in the NC last year), and it doesn't help that he's in a shooting slump. Arron needs to get down low and get to the line like he did yesterday.

 

I think our bench will be key if we win (especially Roll and Westbroo) and Shipp has to continue to pick up Afflalo. We'll definitely trying to grind the game out and make it a total halfcourt g ame.

 

You guys will own us athletically - but hey, so did Memphis and LSU last season.

The play where Horford starting backing in from the free throw line or so and bumped Crone 3 times and then made the basket plus fouling Crone out of the game was just a killer for Butler.

Wow-I was sceaming for Green to kick that out, but he somehow knocked it in anyway. Great shot for him, and it just seems like the top seeds cannot lose this year. 3 1's and 3 2's are already in the Elite 8, and it could be 4 1's-this is just ridiculous. The silly person who picks chalk every year will actually probably win this year.

Wow, very rarely do the studio guys call out officiating like this. In fact, I think sometimes they shy away from showing controversial footage. I hate when officials won't make the right call because of the time on the clock.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of strange that out of all the bad calls this weekend, they went out of the way to call out the travel at the end there.

There have been much larger choke jobs this tourney, but I'd agree. Foul trouble killed them though. USC doesn't have the depth that UNC does, and that has shown in the 2nd half.
