Wade Miller

The good news today is Samardzjia looked good. Miller did okay. Pie and Cedeno did well. Barrett was fire. But most importantly, the Cubs were aggressive and successful when they were.

Alright. I started the thread and the Cubs didn't lose. They're all warmed up for whoever wants tomorrow's game! It's on TV! Woot!

Samardizjia topped out at 98 and averaged 97, and broke 2 bats. Not too shabby.

Wish he was pitching on the WGN game.

He's a converted catcher who is still incredibly raw. He's got several plus pitches, but he still is a throw not a pitcher. Some time in the minors is really what he needs, even with success in the majors I think keeping him there is only hurting him in the long run.

It happened in the middle of the '02 season after he made it to low A ball as a catcher. IMO his power overwhelmed players at lower levels allowing him to succeed, but better hitters have caused him problems at the higher levels. Players also aren't chasing his pitches like they used to. He's got a bright future, but he's still got a long way to go before he reaches his full potential. He's still 24 as well so time is on his side.

 Wow.

Shark Fever. :D

I guess it's needless to say that I've never rooted for a Cubs minor leaguer more.
