Isn't it sad that the Oakland announcers know our minor leaguers by face and Pat and Ron don't?

I was wondering the same thing. These guys know the Cubs prospects pretty good.

A's announcers say that Samardzija's debut is "very impressive". They also mentioned that he's been clocked in the high 90's several times by the Cubs lately.

I think Pat is very well schooled. Ron forgets the details from time to time.

The truth is, all the announcers get media guides etc to prep them before hand. Some are better at sounding prepared than others.

For those of us who haven't been following the game, how did Miller look today?

It sounded like he did all right-he gave up a couple of hits and a run in the second, but he also struck out two in 2 innings and only had 1 hard hit out.

2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K

His first inning was a smooth 1-2-3

Second was a little rough; gave up a run and some hard hit balls

While I love listening to them, Pat and Ron are absolutely useless in spring training. I expect Ron to be unprepared, but it's disappointing that Pat is.

Cedeno solo home run, Barrett inside the park home run, Perez sac fly, I forget the other run.
