Joe Morgan is the Bill Clinton of baseball, he should really be in politics

 

Oh puh-leeze. You're comparing Bill Clinton to the man who invented the double play as we know it today? :)

 

Ah yes...Morgan to Morgan to Morgan, I remember that story way back in the 70's!

New York is so very strong, and have the most influence over media. They are the wrong guys to cross. Most HOF votes come from the east coast, just like the Hesiman and any other major award. Chicago writers(60's and 70's) hated Santo also, until recently when he has become the "lovable loser" which they always paint him as.

 

I think that's the overriding factor here. Santo has re-invented his image here in Chicago. He's a completely different figure than he was in his playing days, when he was known as a competitor that wouldn't hesitate to get under your skin.

 

Chicago may view him as the personification of the 'lovable loser', but the rest of the country -- particularly New York -- still thinks of him as a jerk who is getting what he deserved all along.

I can not wait until Sunday Night Baseball,

 

You know John, I invented bunting...........Funny story, me and Johnny Bench were playing pepper and i decide to take a half swing, I stopped the ball dead in is it spot and Johnny said I so try that in a game so I did.........blah,blah,blah
