That's how freaking good the Bears defense was at the beginning of the year. It hides the last 4 games or so.

Our defense has sucked since Harris went down. It was headed downhill after Brown went out for the season.

Thank God we have an offense this year.

The defense shut down the opponents early in those 4 games, before taking big leads and playing prevent with 3rd stringers.

Is this the fourth or fifth time in this thread that this point has been made? I forget....

Only two days away. Then this will all stop.

And the funny thing is, the defense managed to shut those opponents down early with half of our secondary missing, not to mention one really, really bad defensive back (Hester) playing significant time in place of the injured players.

It's only getting started. Next time we'll have 2 weeks to talk about it. Yeah, I said it...we will have two weeks to talk about the next Bears game.

I won't be as unwilling to take the criticism at that point. I think both the AFC teams should be favored over the Bears on a neutral field.

Not that I don't think the Bears could win, but I don't see them as favorites over the Colts or Pats.

I'll agree with you there, especially if it's the Colts. We really should have beat the Pats on the road despite a crap game from Grossman, though.

Who would have a better chance to beat the Saints on Sunday, the Bears or Mini-Ditka?

Mini Ditka 73

Saints negative 7

Current Bears 27

Saints 17

Putting my 8-0 playoff record firmly in the capable hands of Drew Brees and the rest of the storybook Saints. Some things are just meant to be.

Saints 20, Bears 13

This just in! The Weatherman on TV says that it's going to be a blizzard with up to 20 inches falling per hour during the early afternoon on Sunday! The New Orleans Saints, having nary a member of the team that has ever stepped foot outside of a controlled environment in their entire life, has forfeited!!

And here I thought the Bears had already forfeited because they had no chance against the red hot Saints. I guess we should just crown the Cardinals since both teams forfeited.

Two things: Madden football simulated the the game and said that the Saints win 17-14. ESPN also said that the Saints were the most balanced team left. I don't agree with that because the Bears were at the top couple in points scored and allowed. Second, Soldier Field has heating coils below the turf so the snow won't stick on it right?

That means the game thread will have time to get up to, what, 150 pages by kickoff? Actually, probably more than that, because there will be quite the increase in Bears-related press during those two weeks as well. *IF* the Bears get there, that game thread will swarf the Soriano thread in mere days.

How does Reggie Bush not fumble more? It seems to me like he carries the ball away from his body a lot. Which I think the Bears will be able to take advantage of.

As long as the first tackler wraps up like he's supposed to.

Crap, now what am I going to watch?

He's just kidding so thatthere will be less Bear fans rooting for them on TV.

What's the deal with the picture of Boy George in your Avitar?

Boy George?

Everytime I take a quick glance at that picture it looks like the Boy.

i just glanced, that looks like a woman to me

To be fair, Boy George looks quite a bit like a woman too.

haha Madden, the latest game was so ridicouls in the way the offense could do all these magical plays.

Im not sure if the field has heating coils or not but having a wet turf wont help Reggie Bush either

A couple questions.. which Madden? What difficulty? Were Harris and Mike Brown playing? Did you set the weather right?
