Sorry if someone has brought this up already:

With KC likely moving Teahen to the OF to make room for Gordon, would they consider dumping old man Sander's contract for little in return?

This is more of a random thought than a well-thought out plan, so don't hold back on the invectives as to the stupidity of it!

Now THAT would be a good platoon partner for Jones in RF (with Soriano in CF, which I still believe is the best spot for him).

I thought that KC was gonna get rid of either Sanders or Emil Brown as early as trade deadline last year.

Sure. But Hendry's got Murton and Soriano already in place as RH corner outfielders. He's not interested in another.

He's stated repeatedly that he wants a *lefty* bat. It's possible eventually that he'll realize he's not getting what he wanted at the price he wanted, so he may go a different direction, and perhaps settle for a RH CF. But not another RH corner.

I'm really thinking more of the need for a right handed bench bat than another OF. The current bench could use a RH PH / DH vs lefties.

I think I'd prefer Brown to Sanders. But, I still would rather see them go after someone who can play CF. Preston Wilson would probably be alright. Jones in CF against RHers and Pagan and Wilson share duties against LHers.

I'd say at this point, Reggie Sanders' most redeeming quality is that no matter where he plays, his team seems to reach the postseason:

2000: Braves

2001: DBacks

2002: Giants

2004: Cards

2005: Cards

Even he couldn't help the Pirates (2003) and Royals (2006).

But the '07 Cubs? A lock for the playoffs with Sanders ;)

I suggested Emil Brown a while back, and the Royals have said they're willing to part with him or Sanders. Sanders is a broken man and an expensive risk. Brown isn't as bad as some people think He's put up solid numbers the past two years
