Didn't see it posted in here, the deal appears to be Luis Vizcaino, Ross Ohlendorf, Stephen Jackson, and Alberto Gonzalez. Sickels has them ranked as 18th, 19th, and 20th best prospects for Arizona.

*Cribbed from BTF thread on the trade*

whats with clemens and June 22nd? is he injured or superstitious?

Quite simple actually. Why pitch a full season for 17M when someone will pay you the same to pitch 1/2 a season?

Call him that mid-season pickup and run for the play-offs.

Maybe this will be the year that the Cubs can actually hang an "L" on old RJ.

Doubtful, based on past history.

It just sounds like he hates Chicago.. he doesnt wanna play here either.

AP[/url]"]NEW YORK -- Randy Johnson agreed Sunday to a $26 million, two-year contract with Arizona, leaving physicals and final approvals to complete his trade from the New York Yankees back to the Diamondbacks.

Johnson most likely will take his physical Monday, and the trade probably will be finalized Tuesday. Arizona general manager Josh Byrnes confirmed the agreement but otherwise declined comment until after the medical information is reviewed.

you are stating the obvious. i keep hearing specifically the 22nd mentioned for clemens and i'm wondering how that is any different than june 23rd or august 17th or september 2nd or april 11th or may 30th and so on. the only deadline i'm aware of is, IIRC, that you cant resign with the same club if arb is declined until sometime in may.

it may just be something as simple as when summer vacation starts for his kids or someting, i dont know.

The arby re-sign deadline no longer exists. Clemens can sign with anyone he wants at the time of his choosing.

Well roll your eyes all you like, but what you stated just isn't true. Whatever he signs with for a "full season" is prorated to however long he plays. Last season he signed something around 22 million, and actually got about 12 I recall.

If you're saying he could sign for 17 for the full season right now, or sign for 30 later and make 17, essentially getting the same contract for half the work, well then I just plain disagree with you.

You keep hearing June 22nd because thats when he first pitched last year. His agent has said that he is interested in a short season again. June 22nd is illustrative.
