I hope you're right. But the Romo pro-bowl vote-----clearly a result of the ESPN dumbing-down of the football world----has dampened my confidence.

But I don't think Romo makes it if there's a clear viable alternative. As silly as Romo looks in there, there wasn't an obvious other choice. If Grossman had made it, or if Vick had made it, there would be the same arguments that they didn't deserve it.

They wouldn't be the same arguements. Romo had played far fewer games and had far fewer good games.

Brees was a clear choice to start in the pro bowl. Started every game, is leading his team to a 1st round bye. Look at his stats:

Att Comp Pct Yds YPA Lg TD Int
549 352 64.1 4372 7.96 86 26 11

Compare this to Romo:

Att Comp Pct Yds YPA Lg TD Int
305 197 64.6 2582 8.47 53 17 12

I mean come on. What other explanation could there be for Romo making it over Brees other than just the fact that most people won't watch the actual games----preferring instead to watch a few ESPN highlights?

Romo's barely even played. It was a complete travesty.

With the Coach of the Year, I just don't see how Payton gets overlooked.

I agree with Banedon here. Romo didn't really belong in the Pro-Bowl. On the other hand, in the NFC he was just as good a choice as the others. Vick and Grossman had their flaws as well. Had they made it, there would be detractors saying they didn't deserve it. The arguments would be different, but there would have been arguments nonetheless. I don't see how Payton isn't Coach of the Year. I don't think most people who actually watch the games will choose anyone else.

Romo was the 3rd QB. Brees and Bulger are the first two. Brees will start.

No. He clearly wasn't. That's the point. He was inconsistent, like the others. But he'd done far less.

Interesting. I heard this morning on Sunday (actually Saturday) NFL Countdown that Tom Brady won't play significant time against the Titans tommorow. Great news for 1/4th of what we need to happen to make the playoffs.

Shockey is now listed as out for tonight's game as well. Combine that with the fact that the Giants are 2-12 whenever Strahan doesn't play, and I really like the 'Skins chances tonight :)

Although we had a 1% chance of making the playoffs 2 or 3 weeks ago, with this weekends matchups, I'm liking the Rams chances.

Go Giants, Saints and Eagles!

Go Giants? That can't be good for the Rams. :)

Whoops! I obviously meant go Redskins. It's been hard keeping track of all the things that had to have gone right for the Rams.

Let's say the Gnats win by 7. How much does GB have to win by to get the point differential tie-break?

Technically, they'd need to win by 79. However, it would never get to that tiebreak.

good to see the giants decided to show up this year

It looks quite clear that Mizzou's "Go Giants" cheer is what inspired them to this beatdown...

Giants win 34-28. Packers should be out by the time the early games are over (lions or vikes lose). For the Cheeseheads to have the game mean something, the following needs to occur:

Lions beat Dallas

Vikings beat Cards

Then all but one of the following:

Cards beat Chargers

Dolphins beat Colts

49rs beat Broncos

Saints beat Panthers

Browns beat Texans

Seahawks beat Bucaneers

Then they just have to beat the Bears

Have fun pondering retirement on New Years day Lord Farve

He won't retire.

Chances at the postseason are pretty mute right now. Anytime you have to depend on the Lions, Cardinals/49ers, you know you're in bad shape.

Bye Carolina. :(

I picked the Skins by the way

You going to put up spreads for the other games? I'm at work right now and can't do it at the moment.
