Carson Palmer's Christmas wishlist!!!!

Individually, three players agreed to share their interesting, and amusing, Christmas "wish lists." Here goes:

Quarterback Carson Palmer

1. The new Kevin Federline CD, Playing with Fire. ("A lot of people don't like K-Fed, but he's all right.")

4. Flavor of Love (Season 1)

Well fortunately for Bengals fans, bad taste doesn't make one a bad quarterback.

They should have done one for Chris Henry... #1 would have to be "a really good lawyer"

Time for Vince to lead the Titans to within one game of second place in the AFC South!

Never did I think I would be even hopeful that the Titans would have a chance to beat Jax this year, but now I expect a close game and think we have a good shot at a win.

It's a great feeling, even though we're going to miss out on the number one receiver (Ted Ginn or Calvin Johnson) we need so badly.

The draft is so deep in WRs that I wouldn't worry about missing out on Calvin Johnson - Jarrett, Ginn and Meachem should all be in the 8-20 range.

I hope you're right, but I'm afraid Calvin won't drop below top 10 and if we keep winning, we'll be out of that area.

Also, as much as I like Meachem, I doubt he goes above Calvin if Robert decides to leave early.

I didn't mention Calvin because I think he's a top-5 pick. Meachem is with the guys like Ginn and Jarrett, I think.

I see what you were saying in the post now. Sorry about misunderstanding it.

I also doubt Ginn will drop below the top-10 so he's probably ruled out. After those two, with no disrespect for Meachem or Jarrett, I'd just as soon the Titans look at impact ends.

The DEs in the draft are not high first round quality but if the Titans settle in around the teens, somebody like Abiamiri from ND or the kid from Purdue (maybe CubColtPacer or some other Big Ten fan can refresh my memory, I think his last name's Spencer) would look real good.

Not that I wouldn't be happy with a WR, I just think Ginn and Calvin are a level above Meachem and Jarrett.

Jarrett's going to be very good.

Don't get me wrong, I agree. Both Meachem and Jarrett will be legit #1 receivers for a long time, I just think if we don't get one of the top two, the need is greater for an end.

Well, the guy who wrote the Denver Post article proclaiming Carolina would go after Quinn is being roundly discredited. :(

2. A new tie rack. ("Even guys from Southern California wear ties.")

3. A 10-point LTS crossbow. ("It's a new hobby of mine.")

4. Flavor of Love (Season 1) DVD. ("Flav is very smooth, and funny.")

5. A pingpong table. ("Pingpong is fun and helps your hand-eye coordination.")

A DE? How about Gaines Adams (Clemson) or Quentin Moses (Georgia)?

The Boilermaker you're talking about is Anthony Spencer.

I have a hard time believing that the top 3 picks won't be Quinn, J. Thomas and C. Johnson, in some order.

The wild card could be Adrian Peterson, but yeah, I tend to agree.

Seems to me that if the top 3 picks go to Detroit, Oakland and Tampa, then you've got three teams that don't really need a RB picking first. Then at 4-9 you've got Washington and Arizona, who won't be picking RBs; Cleveland, who probably would pick Peterson, and Houston, who SHOULD pick Peterson - but they're so incompetent that they might not. He seemed like a great fit for Green Bay, but with the win last week and another likely win this week against Detroit, they might have to "settle" for a guy like Marshawn Lynch.

by the way, i went back and found the 2006 draft thread and am reading through it now to see what reactions were. I'm looking forward to the page(s) where the Bears picked Devin Hester and everyone is pissed off.

Kudos to ndistops for saying the Jets would be much better this year (after they picked another offensive lineman).

ah, found it. Now to make all you fools accountable!

Devin Hester!?!
what are they doing?
hahahahah, Hester is awful.
Hester? Yikes.

what the ........?????!!!!!
Devin Hester!?

MORE DBs IN THE THIRD ROUND, PLZ!

wtf...another punt returner? Pope dropping almost saved this draft...
Angelo's philosophy is to draft, sign and trade for all defensive and special teams players. He thinks that is how you win football games.
Here I was thinking "oh, look, Leonard Pope actually fell to 57....that first pick wasn't a waste." then this. ](*,)
Honestly, the Bears are inept. They are one ring above the Blackhawks as far as upper management goes. They consistently make terrible high draft choices, usually don't spend money in FA, and when they do, they overpay for past their prime guys like Muhammad.

TE has been a terrible need for years, their offense was ranked 29th last season, and they spend their first 2 picks on a return specialist and a safety.

Was Moss on the board at 42? If you want a return man/scat back (ie, too cheap to sign Randel El), why not draft one that's actually good?

Kudos to this guy, although he was right for the wrong reasons:

I like the pick of Hestor. Obviously his return ability is redundant with Manning, but I have a feeling the Bears will use him as a scat back in the offense. Little dump off passes and let him fly. If their intent is to place him at CB, not sure if that was a good pick.

Now, everyone say you're sorry to Mr. Angelo and Mr. Hester :D

Eh, I kind of hope we don't take an RB in this year's draft. I'm holding out hope that we can sign restricted FA Michael Turner in the offseason.

I'm definitely hoping we either draft a WR or a safety for our first pick.

Heh, I wasn't even looking at what teams might be in the top 3...I was talking more along the lines of talent. Peterson has to do a lot between now and the draft to be a top-5 pick (show he's healthy, etc.), but he certainly belongs in a discussion with guys like Quinn, Thomas and Johnson.

Wow, I had to search the thread to make sure I actually said it because I didn't remember doing so. Oh well, nice work me!

Then again I also predicted another Car/Sea NFC title game when it's looking a lot like Chi/NO right now.

I'm also looking at the draft thread because I wanted to see some of the comments from back in April.

DEANGELO!!!!!!!! YES YES YES!!!!

lucky. Hopefully White will still be on the board early 2nd round...

Jets with another line pick.

I have a feeling that the Jets are going to be a lot better in 06.

The Pack took Greg Jennings out of WMU earlier - he's a great player, tore up Ball State for over 200 yards and 3 scores in the five-OT classic this year. Solid pick for them.

Angelo is trying to see how many games he can win with a completely inept offense

I hate sports.
x2

http://www.desipio.com/images/angelo_jerry.jpg

He's smiling and laughing his ass off at all of us right now.

Worst. Draft. Ever.

The Bears were a good draft away from a Super Bowl....

Mark Anderson, DE out of Alabama.

Let's just not do anything on offense the rest of the draft.

Jerry Angelo is doing his best to try to lose his job in a weekend.

Yeah, I was that bored

Pretty funny to see everyone say how bad of a job Angelo did and now 7 1/2 months later, he has two players that can win ROTY awards.

Also it is interesting to see that ndi knew the Jets were going to be much better this season and that Greg Jennings was going to be a good pick

maybe ndistops should be an nfl scout... then again, he probably thinks every ND player is going to be an awesome pro, and that could be a weakness :P

Darius Walker + Rhema McKnight = little chance of pro success.

Jeff Samardzija = slightly overrated pro prospect.

Anyone on our defense not named Victor Abiamiri or Derek Landri = terrible pro prospect. Maybe exception for Zbikowski.

Chew on that. :D

The funny thing is, it seems like most fans that are not ND fans really want Zbikowski for their pro team-I think he's one of the most overrated players in the country, and it seems like you do as well. I agree with you about the different players projections.

Oh, definitely agree. I'm still trying to get my head around him getting 3rd team All-America even though he is simply awful at covering people and doesn't have any interceptions.

This one has some truth to it. Maybe he can claim being a Packers fan at the time of the draft to explain the accompanying emoticon.

can't believe abiamiri is a senior already. It seems like just yesterday that he took money from a Maryland coach.

Rookie Maurice Jones-Drew was so convinced his UCLA Bruins would beat USC that he bet former Trojan Jack Del Rio on the game. Del Rio (seen here in a Jordan Farmar basketball jersey) wouldn't give any details but he apparently has to wear a Bruins' jersey and sign autographs while wearing it.

Wow. Just goes to show how much different perceptions of a draft and draft results can be.

Also, glad I didn't post in that thread. :P

UCLA has been doing great things for my favorite teams since about April 3. Now, if only the Cubs could get Chase Utley. . .
