Actually, a Spurrier/Bowden matchup would have been fun. I was just messing around about these bowl games. My team plays Houston, so I don't have a lot to talk about.

I know, and I'm actually pretty ecstatic taht we got a bowl game...it didn't look likely a month ago.

 

We already won our equialent of a bowl game (you're welcome, Florida fans), but this would be a great springboard into next season (and also big for recruiting).

btw, I had just assumed that ABC would have all the major bowl games, but apparently FOX has most of the BCS games. No Herbsreit I guess :(

There is like one game I will watch in there. FSU vs UCLA I will watch, the others not so much.

And Jimmy Johnson and Chris Rose will do the pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows.

It's really screwy. A network that hasn't produced a college football game all year gets the BCS games? Talk about selling to the highest bidder! ABC did a fantastic job all year and they get to sit home. Shameful

I'll probably watch at least the beginning of most of these, assuming I don't have to work of course, just to see if they're good games. Once they turn to blowouts, I'm out.

 

As for potential good games, the ASU-Hawaii could be a very entertaining and high scoring game.

If not for Bradshaw I'd actually think the Sugar Bowl crew is pretty good. Kenny Albert's a solid PBP guy.

Remember that huge hit Patrick Cowan took from Ray Maualuga towards the end of the USC-UCLA game? According to the Daily Bruin and the LA Times, Cowan got a concussion from that hit - he only recognized the post-concussion symptoms about 3 days after the game.

 

As of now, Ben Olson is the starter against Florida State and redshirt freshman Osaar Rashaan is his backup - Cowan has until early next week to get cleared for practice or he won't play in the Emerald Bowl.

Funny thing is, the ASU-Hawaii game will likely be the exact opposite of the FSU/UCLA game. Neither team has a defense and both have good offenses.

The over/under may in the 70s for that game. :lol:
