I'm looking forward to an all-out airial attack from both Arkansas and Wisconsin :)

I'm excited. . . . after 2 tough lsoses, it's good to be in a very good bowl and playing another great football team.

That'll be a great, great game to watch. Wisco with something to prove and Arkansas still has Darren McFadden.

so one thing that is always interesting about the interim between the bowls. with all the practices but no games, under classmen and other non-starters often step up and emerge as good players for their team, often surpassing all season starters. UW has had a couple defensive lineman really emerge during practice leading up to the bowls over the years who ended up being difference makers at the beginning of January even though unheard of during the season.

anyone have any sleepers they expect to be an X factor come bowl season?

I can't wait to see LSU/ND.

Ooh, good question.

Watch for James Aldridge of ND. Darius Walker is good and all, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Charlie fight speed with speed and put the faster Aldridge in. John Carlson will be back for that game too, which will help an Irish offense that looked emasculated at times against USC.

I'd put FSU-UCLA in the mismatch category given the Bruins' last game and given FSU's 6-6 record with no good wins on their resume.

Our offense still sucks and FSU's defense is good. I think it will be a close one, hopefully the fact that it's in San Francisco and FSU shows their disappointment in having to come to the Emerald Freaking Bowl helps us out a lot.

I was saying to Warp earlier that it will be a helluva game. I don't expect the Badgers to win this one, but who knows, maybe with Arkansas stumbling passing game and UW's good pass D, they will be able to stack the box and slow down McFadden. or maybe Stocco can get deep a couple times on that DB that kept getting burned last night.

whatever the case, the oddsmakers will have UW as a heavy underdog. it's always a good bet to go with UW to cover the spread in their bowl game.

All of this talk about ND being a huge underdog, and not having a chance reminds me of the Cheerios Bowl (92 Sugar). Hopefully the results are the same.

The question I have for everybody is that if everyone expects ND to get blown out, if LSU wins the bowl game in a very close game, does that mean ND is better than you thought they were?

Ummmm...was that directed to me?

The answer, of course, is no. And as much as I'd like to make some snarky comment about anti-ND drivel on this board, the fact is I won't be satisfied with anything but a win either.

I don't think the Clemson vs. UK matchup looks good for UK. Everything they do well on offense, UK can't stop. Everything UK does well on offense, Clemson can stop.

No, sort of an add-on to your comment that everyone is predicting a huge blowout-not directed at you whatsoever.

Oh, I won't be satistfied with a moral victory either personally, but I would hope it would at least convince people that the 2 teams deserved to step on the same field together.

Good. Because I see ND winning this one. And I really hope they do. I am real sick of all my friends talking about how overrated ND is. I will admit they are - somewhat - but if ND can win this, hopefully it will shut a lot of people up (not directed to anyone on this board).

Was 92 their last Sugar Bowl? For some reason I am thinking they went again in 93.

just one more thing. UW is not the single dimensional team of the Bollinger/Dane days. they did average over 200 ypg passing.

And its set... Florida is going to get killed, IMO

Oh, and Urban, a "young team that plays hard" is not a reason to be in the BCS Championship.

And get a regular name, jerk.

Man, this really sucks! I really wanted to see LSU in the Rose Bowl against USC or anyone else. Not only that, but now I have to watch my favorite team (LSU) play one of my other favorites in ND. Yay me, I get to relive the nightmare again as I did when they played twice in '97 or '98. To top it all off I probably won't get to go to the game, unlike LSU's National Championship year. I'll definitely be pulling for LSU, though I hope ND can keep it somewhat close.

PSU vs. Tennessee.....again. I was hoping for something new.

USC vs. Michigan will be 100 times better than OSU vs. Florida, a game I'm seriously contemplating not watching at all.
