i have NEVER seen so many 4th down attempts in one half of football in my life

Watch more USC games. Pom Pom will go for it anytime the ball is on the other side of the 50, unless it's a 4th and long and a FG would work.

Wow, Booty.

Save some of that for next week.

He looks like a different QB than he was on the first 2 drives. He needs to work on his decision making.

Lou Holtz.>>>ND is a great team? I don't consider any team this year as great.

OSU (the team you say Louisville would put 45 points on) disagrees.

announcers dead on talking about quinn there, just have to throw it earlier

that's like a 6" height advantage on the CB

Weis is a cowboy, thats for sure.

He also has no faith in his defense.

Booty reverts back to his mid-season form. Awful decision, right into double coverage.

How has Kiffin's play calling been for USC?

It's been getting better, it's helped that Chauncey Washington and CJ Gable have stepped up and given USC solid running backs. He started out too pass-happy, but that could be because Washington was banged up and they had a limited running game to start the season.

I'd take Kiffin over Svoboda (UCLA's OC) any day of the week. I think I can do better play calling than Svoboda.

The few USC games that I saw, I thought he did a good job of play calling. Although Brooks will be back for UK, he would've been one of 1st choices.

USC fans have not been too supportive of Kiffin from what I gathered, of course, they're using Chow as the measuring stick.

OSU is a very good team this year but when they are ranked among the historical greats, they just don't match up.

Yeah. Certainly they don't have Chow, but they also don't have Leinart, Bush, White or Mike Williams. Most USC fans have been quick to blame Kiffin and Booty, but Booty's struggles are to be expected, their running game was slow to come on and Jarrett was hurt for half the season.

Of course who said USC fans are rational? :)

ok i missed the whole first half. i check the box score and i cant see how the irish are down by 11.

The box score doesn't list turnovers by downs-Notre Dame had 3 of those in the 1st half (all of them were in USC territory-too close for a punt, too far for a field goal).

If it weren't for a blocked punt USC would be up 21-3.

USC scored too easily and the let ND back in the game.

Personally, I want ND to win this game because I actually like ND and hate USC. That being said, for those who know right off hand, which team winning this game improves LSU's BCS chances? Forgive me for not attempting to decipher all the scenarios.

They scored too easily early partly because of great field position (ND turnover on downs, good USC kickoff returns), then the blocked punt and two Booty interceptions (but ND couldn't take advantage of the interceptions).

By the same token, Notre Dame has made serveral unforced errors. McKnight caused 2 drives to stall with drops, and he doesn't do that. Walker doesn't fumble normally, but he did that as well. I don't think either team played particularly well in the 1st half though-Notre Dame is going to have to step up to make up for those opportunities they lost.

Neither one will really influence LSU-both of these teams are practically guaranteed BCS games already. The best thing for LSU would be if WV beats Rutgers next week, and Florida to beat Arkansas. If those happened, I think LSU would get in over WV and Rutgers.

I'm not sure many from the last several years do. Last years Texas team was a one man show. When Leinart said last year that they played really bad and they were the better team, I'm not so sure I disagreed. The thing was Vince Young had one of the best games EVER in that game. I don't think Texas' team last year is one of the greatest ever. Maybe USC's the year before, and definitely Miami's in 2001? But other than that, not many in the last ten years would beat the 1995 Nebraska team.

Thanks. I didn't think this game would influence LSU, but I wasn't sure.
