That's awesome! Thanks for posting it! Wrigley looks so different, yet you can see some things that are still there like the brick wall and the poles.

How about the bleachers? Wow!

"hack wilson(probably)" rich...

didnt the country go into THE depression right after that?

remind me if the cubs look like they might go to the series, to sell all my stocks and buy gold?

The same guy who uploaded this, also uploaded Chicago Bear/Chicago Cardinal footage taken from Wrigley and Comiskey in 1929...

...as well as 1929 Chicago Blackhawk footage...

Get a whiff of the past.

Yeah, the Stock Market crashed a couple weeks later, triggering the start of the Great Depression. Like those pitching motions!

as long as the deficit keeps climbing that's probably a good idea anyway.

...you are welcome. I found it and knew I had to share it here. If you search the Cubs on youtube, you can also find clips of Bill Murray calling games. A friend of mine who I stay with in Chicago sometimes posted video once of Deion Sanders with the Reds being heckled all day from the bleachers. Also good stuff.

the sound is weak

Dude..it's from 1929! Dolby surround sound was not available.

Can you please re-size your avatar? It's way too big.

I'll try. I am not the most computer literate.

1. Too bad it cuts off before we clinch.

2. Games must have averaged 90 minutes. The time between pitches to the right-handed batter was 9 seconds!

3. Cool to see the bleachers, the grandstand without the backing walls, no tall buildings behind center.

4. What are they doing after the game, just walking home across the field? That's crazy.

5. I wish wearing hats was still customary.

"You should have lived in the twenties and thirties, you know men wore hats all the time."

"What a bald paradise that must have been!"

Thanks to the OP for the link. Wonderful, one-of-a-kind treat. My whole family enjoyed watching it.

1927 Yankees - 975 runs scored (155 games)

1929 Cubs - 982 runs scored (156 games)

edit - oh by the way, the Cubs HOF, career 126 OPS+ catcher who was at the pinnacle of his career had 27 plate appearances in 1929.
