Bears head coach Lovie Smith says Bernard Berrian (doubtful, ribs) could return to practice on Friday.

Original estimates had him out up to a month, but he's reportedly been walking comfortably, says his condition has improved, and considers himself "day-to-day." It would still be a surprise if Berrian plays Sunday. Nov. 10 - 12:02 am et

:?:

I saw some of Lovie's press conference on Wednesday...it sounds to me like he wants Berrian out there...

In other news, Burress will play.

I'm not a Bears or Giants fan, but did anyone hear Colin Cowherd's ridiculous comments today about the game? (Yes, I know I deserved to be slapped for even listening to his drivel.)

He said if the Giants win , it's because they're a better team. If the Bears win, the Giants are still a better team, they just have a lot of injuries.

Heh...it's unpossible the Bears could be better!

NY media in general is very dismissive of the Bears, especially their offense. They don't seem to think the Bears have a chance of scoring unless the defense does the work.

Seriously? By my count, the Giants are going to be missing 5 defensive starters (Osi, Strahan, Arrington, Madison, Short). Also backups Tuck and Emmons are questionable. I don't understand how they could be so confident with so many injuries. They don't have good depth.

 ... Actually, the Giants have pretty darn good depth ... good enough to hold two teams to 10 or less points with alot of starters out the last two weeks ...

Have you watched the Giants at all?

The Giants do have good depth. Of course, that all goes out the window when your "depth" is forced into the first string.

I agree, but to state the Giants don't have good depth is plain wrong.

I was refering specifically to this game where they have some backups who are also banged up. They started a DE off the practice squad last week. Normally they have great DE depth, but not for this game. With so many defensive players hurt, if someone gets hurt in this game they could be in big trouble. Sorry for the confusion.

The Giants are the team I follow the most other than the Bears.

Edit: Let's be honest about the last two games, as well. One game was played in a hurricane against the 2nd worst offensive team in football and the other was played against the Texans, the 6th worst offensive team in football.

It's still impressive to hold NFL teams to 10 or less points with most of your starters out two straight weeks.

True. But the Bears have done it 5 times this year and are being dismissed by many because of the schedule.

I have to believe the easy schedule has more to do with us putting up 30 pts a game than it does with us allowing under 10 a game. Allowing under 10 is extremely hard in the NFL no matter who you play.

Keep an eye on the weather. TWC is calling for warm temps (upper 50s), but a 70% chance of rain pretty much all day and night. The field should be rather soaked by kickoff.

With no disrespect to Giants fans, I love how few media outlets are talking about the schedule of the Giants. Yes, they have had a brutal schedule, but bear in mind that during their five game win streak, the only team they have played that was .500 or better when they played them was the Falcons. They beat the Cowboys as they were changing QBs. I'm not saying the Bears haven't had an easier schedule, because they have, but the Giants haven't necessarily beated juggernauts on the way to us. It's the NY media fascination that is blinding a lot of people to this. Regardless, it'll be a good game.

I heard something about swirling winds too, wrecking havoc on the passing games.

The wind shouldn't be much of an issue. Should stay below 10 mph. But now there's an 70-80% chance of rain and thunderstorms from sunrise through the game.

I'm really nervous about tonight. I hope the Bears go back to being the good Bears, but I had a dream last night where they lost to the Giants by two touchdowns. Also, for some reason I was at the game and the stadium was pretty empty. Anyways, hopefully they come out in the first quarter ready to go.

This game is going to get alot bigger if the Packers can hang on and win. A 4 game lead with 7 left would be nice.

This game is about home field advantage over the giants. But yeah, this GB/Minny game will pretty much wrap up the division and playoff berth unless there is a complete meltdown.

EDIT: If Osi is out that is going to be huge for the Bears. I could careless if people say the victory is tainted because of NY injuries, this game is huge. The W is the point not style points.

Ok, so the Bears destroy Buffalo, and then Indy wins by 1 against Buffalo. The NFL is awesome, from week to week you really have no clue what will happen. GO BEARS

Urlacher will play, but Berrian is out. Rashied Davis will get the start and Bradley will be active.

Hopefully he'll be good to go next week.

I'm getting nervous. You think Bradley will play in the slot?

Davis will be starting outside.

By the way, the winds are currently gusting up to 20 mph, but we'll see if they last.
