I <3 Donald Driver.

You do realize that in order for the Packers to win this division (keep in mind that both teams have played 7 games) not only do the Bears have to lose 5 games but the Packers have to win every single one of theirs.

Yea.

Thats how down you guys are.

Friendly office wager of the week:

Who wins with the larger Chicago-Miami margin, Bulls over Heat (42), or Bears over Dolphins?

Yes, the line of 42 is enormously high, but this is also an office full of Chicago fans. The fact that people here are actually spiritedly debating the wager indicates that the Bears are having a special year.

Too bad Briggs won't be back. But I agree, little chance of keeping him unless he turns down lots of money to play here, and lets be honest, how often does that happen...

I hope the Bears aren't over looking this game like everybody else seems to be doing.

I have a wager with a Dolphins fan, winner gets a new replica jersey. He was very confident this summer and offered the bet.

He bought it last week.

Ok, where did I say that the Packers are going to win the division? It's pretty obvious that the Bears are going to win the division. I'm just glad that finally someone said something about all of this hype that the Bears are getting. Sure they're 7-0, but really, the only teams you guys have played that are worthy of being called "decent" are the Seahawks and Vikings. And both of those teams look real mediocre this year, as well as every other team in the NFC not named the Bears or Giants.

Congrats on the great year you're having, but some of you are just overreacting on the comment Driver made. He said that the Bears are a good team, but given the game on Arizona (where the whole Bears offense looked awful) that they aren't as good as their record indicates. There's no way of proving this because the Bears don't control the schedule, but he does have a valid point. Still a 7-0 record against any 7 teams in the NFL is pretty good and has to be respected. We'll see how good the Bears do against the Giants and Pats on the road. Their schedule gets progressively tougher after the Dolphins game.

I don't think we're that far "down" either. In a rebuilding year, we're only 1 game out of a playoff position going into Week 9. Yeah we've beaten three pretty bad teams, but our four losses are against teams that are all above .500. Unlike the Bears, our schedule gets easier the second half of the season (besides the Pats and Seahawks).

Now I don't want to turn this into a pointless Bears-Packers thread, so I'll close this off by saying the Bears will beat the Dolphins by probably 3 TD's. Besides the Giants-49ers game, this is the easiest lock of the week.

I'm holding out hope that our Week 17 battle will actually be a game that can be important for both teams.

I don't fault Driver for talking the way he did. If I were to step back and pretend I was a fan of a mortal team, I'd be glad that one of the players, regardless of how dillusional it may or may not be, is talking like there's a point to the season. (Insert tongue-in-cheek remark about why they take the field and crowning the Bears' ass.) He's probably just trying to fire up his team or himself.

I really don't see how this is a similar situation to 1985. It's in Chicago. It's 8 games into the season instead of 13. It's the worst Dolphins team since before '85.

You know the media will jump on anything to try to make a story out of nothing. Especially when its a 7-0 team against a 1-6 team.

But it isn't the worst Dolphins team since before '85. The front 7 is very good and the WRs and RBs are pretty talented as well. The secondary and O-line are pretty horrible and the QB play has been inconsistent. There were, however, some much worse teams in the Wandstedt era.

Yeah, I know they have some talent. Just venting a little.

Boo to you backing down raw.

This Dolphins team sucks, big time. They've got very little talent, and the QB's have been consistently awful. Culpepper is terrible, and Harrington is Harrington, good for 3-4 back breaking plays a game.

The Wanny years in Miami produced win totals of 11, 11, 9, 10 and 4. There were not "some much worse teams in the Wannstedty era", as was claimed. This team will be lucky to surpass that 4 win mark.

These guys are on TV every week in my place, and the 2 Dolphin fans entertain everybody with their non stop complaining.

I really hope it is meaningless for the Bears, and expect it will be meaningless for Green Bay.

I will only say this: it's interesting how the Bears are a joke because of the teams they have played, yet the Packers are suddenly looking great while beating those identical opponents.

As for Packers/Bears in late December----they might actually have a shot to win that game. Of course, it will be against our NFL Europe assignees......but they might have a shot.

The Packers will be a terrible team for a very long time.

Look at their draft history the past few years.

So many holes in that team.

Let's look at the drafts that Thompson has put together the past two years. Aaron Rodgers, the best player on the board at #24. He added Terrance Murphy, who practically broke his neck against Carolina last year. Murphy looked like he would have been a solid 3 or 4 receiver.

This year's draft looks to be exceptionally good for us. AJ Hawk is going to be a stud, Greg Jennings already has made an impact for us this season before getting hurt, and all of the O-lineman he drafted have really improved each and every week. Our running game basically sucked last year, but this year Ahman Green already has three 100 yard rushing performances this year. Oh yeah, and that Gado for Morency trade has looked pretty decent for us too. Not to mention the addition of Charles Woodson, arguably our best player on defense this year. Our special teams are also much improved with Rayner/Ryan as opposed to Shortwell and Barker/Sander/etc.

This is the NFL. Improvements can be made in just one year. We're going to have some money to spend this offseason to possibly land another big name FA as well (please be Briggs or Hamlin).

I didn't want to make this an argument, but what am I supposed to do, just let you guys run all over my team just like this? Once again Driver complimented the Bears. There is nothing wrong with what he said. It's pretty pathetic that the sports radio in Chicago decided to dwell on his comments for one whole day.

I complimented the Bears saying that they are 7-0 and winning 7 in a row against any NFL team is an accomplishment. I also said how we haven't beat anyone yet either. Where have I said the Bears are a joke? I know they're a good team and they are right up there with the Giants to win the NFC. They just haven't had a real test yet, but they will in a week and a half.

Just relax. I'm giving you guys your props. 7-0 is an impressive feat.

Maybe. If you take those last couple of sentences out of context though, I think the Bears can use that...maybe I'm wrong.

if the bears need bulletin board material to win a home game against a 1-6 team with joey harrington as its quarterback, then they've got more to worry about that who's saying what about them

I guess 2 games against the Vikes, one against the Bears, plus two road games are locks. We are getting giddy after 2 wins. :cheer:

oh jeez. can fans of other teams who want to rain on bears fans parade please start their own thread and refrain from posting in the threads that bears fans pay attention to?

especially if their team is either rebuilding or coming off 3 consecutive losses.

I know Mizzou asked a question about jerseys a little while ago, but I was at Sears today (the one on Lawrence two blocks west of Ravenswood) and saw Reebok Walter Payton throwback jerseys (non-EQT, only screen printed numbers and name) for just $55. I've never seen a Payton jersey that cheap before and I haven't seen those online.

ChicagoBears.com[/url]"]LAKE FOREST, Ill. – For the first time this season, the Bears did not list any players on their injury report for Sunday’s home game against the Miami Dolphins.

Every Bears player practiced Wednesday except for left guard Ruben Brown and right tackle Fred Miller, both of whom were given a “veteran’s day off.”

There are five players on the Dolphins injury report: Quarterback Daunte Culpepper (knee) is doubtful; while linebacker Channing Crowder (foot), cornerback Travis Daniels (knee), guard Jeno James (knee) and linebacker Derrick Pope (hamstring) are questionable.

fans are due for some rubbing in.

An interesting articleabout flexible scheduling and the dueling that may be occuring between NBC and Fox over the Bears/Patriots game...

The article says Fox is protecting the game because its at 3 PM and its the most highly watched game of the week. I thought the game was supposed to be at noon.

Hey now...you keep quiet with your "facts" and "schedules"... :P

Are you saying the Bears are a rebuilding team coming off three consecutive losses and their fans are raining on the parade of some other team that is doing well?
