Pin it on the Cubs, of course!!!! How about the fact that Buckner on two messed up knees still managed to drive in 106 runs, would the Red Sox have even been in that WS without Buckner? Looking for someone or something to pin the blame on? About Grady Little for not replacing a less than mobile Buckner at 1B?

That Buckner article is just obnoxious. The eye roll is the perfect emoticon for any reference to the 5-letter word that starts with 'c' or four-letter word that starts with 'j'. I can't even bring myself to type the damn words. Oh, so thaaaaat's the reason the Cubs lose! No accountability from management or players required! Instant magical exoneration.

Buckner drove in 106 runs batting behind Wade Boggs and Marty Barret. Boggs had a .450 obp and I am pretty sure Barret's was above .350. Buckners offensive performance in 1986 was way overrated. I should look this up before I shoot of my typing but I am guessing his OPS wasnt even close to .800

.311/.421/.732 according to Baseball Reference. They also have his RBI total as 102.

Good advice, the Red Sox manager was John McNamara and Buckner drove in 102, guess I should check the facts as well...

Yeah I was using 106 becuase that was what was previously posted. This is a prime example of how RBI's can be overrated as a stat. I am guessing Dave Stapelton would have driven in over 90 if he was the everday starter at 1b and batted 3rd.
