I must say I'm surprised both Purdue and Illinois got in. I thought neither would be in. I agree with Seth Davis that fewer Mid-Majors getting in is bad for College BB.

Bill self will screw that bracket up. it looks favorable for them.

I know it would take a small miracle for us to get to them, but man would that be an awesome game.

Memphis gets the 2 over aTm? laughable

Texas A&M shouldn't have lost so early in the Big 12 tourney.

Too bad they don't play in the CUSA.

Memphis' resume looks better.

Memphis: 30-3, #8 RPI, #75 SOS, 6-3 vs Top 100 RPI, non-con RPI of 16 and non-con SOS of 22.

Texas A&M: 25-6, #17 RPI, #57 SOS, 8-6 vs Top 100 RPI, non-con RPI of 35 and non-con SOS of 141.

The only reason people are hating on Memphis is because they played in C-USA when it's clear that they played a tougher non-con schedule by far.

Man, Virginia gets a 4 seed with an RPI of 55. That just seems insane to me. I guess the committee really did ignore VA's non-conference slate.

They've only played 3 games against any type of competition(Houston is in the RPI top 100 but they're not good) since THANKSGIVING.

Mid majors have come a long way and they are losing bids. Look at the B10, it was a very weak year outside of 2 teams and they still got 6 in. 6 mid majors seems really low. bad to see that.

Pretty shocking to me as well looking at their resume.

Ah, I see. Well in that case, yes it is.

They play in a crappy conference, big deal. I don't care what they've done since thanksgiving, I care what they did the whole year. And for the whole year, Memphis' resume is better, as I showed above.

Extremely happy with SIU's seeding. A 4 seed against Holy Cross. A potential 2nd round game against Illinois. Hopefully, we'll finally get to see that long-awaited matchup with a spot for a Sweet 16 berth on the line.

Memphis has to leave that league though. We will never know how good they really are because of it. I also think they get hurt not playing any good teams for such a long time.

There's a guy from the selection committee on right now, talking about the # of teams with 20+ wins and how it made it tougher to choose.

Clearly the selection committee still looks at that magic 20 number. This is why I thought Illinois would be in: 23 wins, 2 wins over Indiana. Sounds very much like that is exactly what got them one of those last bids.

Clark Kellogg's "sleeper picks" are hilariously awful.

As hilarious as Seth saying Bill Self will win the championship. Bill Self...pffft. that'll be the day.

What I love is the explanation for Tech over KSU.... haha! Sure the south is tougher, but Tech getting in because they had a game the night before getting their ass kicked by us. That's hilarious... Get penalized for EARNING the 4th seed and a bye. HAHAHAHA! What a joke.

UCLA plays Weber State in the first round, that's Ben Howland's Alma Mater. Possible Gonzaga rematch in the second round. Possible matchup against his old school and against his best friend in Pitt in the Sweet 16. Interesting.

It's the strength of the division that determined the seed. The one game difference is the extra game that Tech had to play against Texas/aTm v. Kansas/whoever in the North.

Yeah, I noticed that too. What a joke. The most glaring omission has to be Syracuse though. In my opinion, they should've taken one of those Big Ten bids, but what can you do. For as rough of a year as this had to be on the selection committee, I think they did a fair job. Sure a couple teams got shafted, but that's unavoidable.

Bilas just went off on Xavier getting an at-large over Syracuse or Drexel.

And Digger follows it up with a terrible argument about Arkansas/Texas Tech v. Kansas State.

Bilas, Syracuse plays in the Big East. That is why their schedule is better. Syracuse didn't play a single game outside New York in the non-conference.

Xavier won their league. They deserve a bid.
