When do they pick who gets into the NIT?
In the past it's been the same day as the NCAA pairings are announced but later in the evening. I don't know if that will still be the case now that the NCAA has taken over the NIT.

And season over. No NIT, no nothing. Mizzou sucks.

Nit-ology has us "solidly in" as a 6 seed as of tuesday. Cross your fingers.

Honestly, after getting whomped by Baylor, I'll be surprised if we even get in. When do they pick who gets into the NIT?

The NIT selection show is Sunday, 8 PM CST on ESPN2

At least CU made Texas Tech play today. Hopefully that helps us out tomorrow. Must win tomorrow for KSU, which is silly seeing that we'd be 169/170 if we don't get in (re:the stat I posted a few pages back), but not surprising. Win for the Cats tomorrow and we're in.

Should be a great game. You guys are in barring major upsets in a number of tourneys.

The General vs Huggie. I bet the refs are looking forward to calling this game.

Bold Prediction:

Mike Conley Jr, if he comes back to school, will be the National Player of the Year.

He's like Jason Kidd was at Cal, but with a midrange jumper. He's the reason OSU has a legit shot to be national champions this year, not Oden.

The amazing thing is that nobody knew it-Conley was seen as good, but really just a throw-in. He is much, much better than I expected as a freshman from reading about him during his high school days.

He was that good in HS too. I saw one of their games on TV last year, and he was more impressive than Oden to me. Oden obviously looked dominant, but when you are 7'1" going against guys 6'8" and smaller, that's usually how it works. Conley played guys who were at least his peer athletically, but he was just much better than them.

Well the NIT bracket is filling up with my favorite teams once again with Michigan's loss to OSU. DePaul clinched their spot on Wednesday.

Washington got hosed by the refs today, no doubt. Sucks for them since this was a must-win.

Bummer. I liked that team because of the dude who looks like the first caddy from Happy Gillmore.

Is there any chance Amaker isn't fired?

He's been terrible, how has he lasted this long?

He makes Mike Davis look like John Wooden.

Hahaha, me and my friends nicknamed him Caddy during last year's tournament.

I'm still not sure we're in unless we win today. I hope you're right, and I think we should be. You're right though, should be a great game today!

I have two good friends who went to UM, and they said he probably wont, because of his recruiting ties in Detroit. Which I guess means he get the cream of the crop in the state. Also, they would owe him a ton of money if they canned him now.

A strange free throw violation gave the ball back to Mississippi State with 10 seconds left, and a 3 at the buzzer then means that Kentucky and Mississippi State are going to OT.

In high school Mike Davis sent Mike Conley a recruiting letter addressed with Sheron Collins' name. That is clutch.

bad news for some other bubble teams-Purdue probably has punched their ticket, and Kansas State probably has as well.

In other games, Boston College avoids the upset and beats Miami by 3 in OT.

Yeah, well at least according to the Sun Times I believe. I think that Davis said that one of his Graduate Assistants switched the names, but still that pretty much killed your chance with Conley and Oden.

I don't understand how KSU and Purdue have sealed the deal. I mean, if they weren't in before, why does winning a game against a bubble team(Iowa wasn't really even a bubble team either) put you in? I see it if KSU beat aTm, or if Purdue knocked off Wisconsin, but I think this is a case of overemphasizing the conference tourneys.

I think KSU went from probably out to probably in, but they still shouldn't be too comfy on selection sunday. If They beat KU tomorrow, definitely in.

It's more about avoiding a loss-now both Purdue and KSU can only lose to really good teams, which will put them in better situations than some of the bubble teams who lost to worse teams. When splitting hairs between bubble teams that are so close, their last action is always the most important. Remember, the committee has said they want the best teams, not necessarily the most deserving-so playing well going into the tournament has a huge weight attached to it.

KSU finished 4th in the Big 12, and this confirms that they are a top 4 team. How could they not be in? The Big 12 is deserving of at least 4 teams... The thing I wonder is if this loss keeps Tech from getting in? They have some big wins this year.
