What the hell happened to Randle? I was expecting him to be this team's best player by far this year.

He had growing surgery this year. You have any idea what that does to your mobility?

I know and understand that. That's probably the reason for some of the ticky-tack fouls he gets by not being in position all the time, but there seems to be more to it than just that. Who knows I guess. Kind of off topic, but he's a really bright student IIRC, right?

Grr...Tajuan Porter breaks Jason Kapono's record for most 3-pointers by a freshman in the Pac-10. :(

Truly a historic day. Probably gonna be the lead on sportscenter.

Hey, Kapono was my favorite player while I was at UCLA.

Yes he is a very good student. I think that his two big injuries have derailed his career. Oh and also that game was very poorly officiated. Thatmissed goaltend and several of the charges were a joke.

And a very good guy. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't gotten the David Robinson "too nice to be tough" rap from the mainstream.

Lunardi said we are out and Purdue and Indiana are in. What a freaking joke. We took 2 of 3 from IU, if they get in and we don't I won't watch a second of that tourny.

IU beat SIU and Wisconsin though and I think that outweighs taking 2 of 3 from them. Jerry Mathers really seems to be all over the place this year in his projections. He's had U of I in for weeks, and over the past few days he's steadily dropped them despite them getting the big win they needed against IU.

We do deserve it more than Purdue, I have little doubt in my mind about that.

They said we had to win 3 of 4 down the stretch, we did. They said we had to beat Penn State and IU in the tourny, we did. Every stat we have is better than Purdon't's. If we are left out it is a joke. We won 23 games in the big ten.

hey at least I won't be swearing off one of the most fun tournaments to watch because a pretty good team that I root for won't be getting a chance to win one or maybe two games in it

oh and btw just because my alma mater has 2700 students, doesn't get great athletes and will never have a real chance to win the ncaa tourney, doesn't mean that i don't have just as much fun rooting for them as anyone else does rooting for their team... the goals are just a little different

OJ Mayo was arrested last night:

O-J Mayo was among four males cited on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges in Huntington, West Virginia, late last night. Cabell County Sheriff’s Deputy Doug Adams says the driver had a small amount of marijuana on him and there was marijuana in a spare set of shoes in the back of the car.

Another banner week for USC athletics between that and and the whole White Aryan Nation football thing.

For those who care what us nerds from the other thread think, we have it down to these 23 teams for the last 14 spots.

Nevada

Virginia

Boston College

Vanderbilt

Illinois

Georgia Tech

Syracuse

BYU

Xavier

Missouri State

USC

Texas Tech

Stanford

Purdue

Air Force

Old Dominion

West Virginia

Drexel

Bradley

Kansas State

Arkansas

Oklahoma State

Florida State

I have no clue how you go through those 23 teams and put U of I at 15 or lower.

in all honesty, I don't find march madness that entertaining. NHL playoffs and NFL playoffs are better by far. Crazy stuff happens in the NCAA tourney because the players just aren't that good and it can be really sloppy. See Gonzaga game of last year.

It's fun because the first two days you have four games going on at once, you get to watch a few of the little guys pull off big upsets, and then you get some great games, especially from the sweet 16 down to the final. The first round (Thurs/Fri) are my two favorite sports days of the year.

I hope you look back on this conversation later and realize how immature you're being.

A) Holy Cross has as good a chance as any mid-major to pick up a win in the first round, especially if they end up with a 13. They have an RPI of 62 and beat Bucknell twice. They have two very good seniors leading them. The Patriot League has shown in recent years that they can win NCAA games. If they play a team like Oregon---Lunardi's projection---they have a great chance.

B) Illinois will make the tournament, without a doubt. All this whining and complaining is for naught. IU and U of I will both be in and will both probably lose first round games.
